Lyra-

I made sure I had all my camping gear and I set my bags near the door. My phone began to ring and I straightened up. I quickly rifled through my pocket and pulled it out.

"Hello?"

"Hey pumpkin."

"Hi dad," I zipped up my suitcase and moved it beside my gear pack.

"Are you one your way to the airport yet?" He asked.

"No, I just finished packing."

"When's your flight?"

"2 o'clock."

"Lyra Jay Kellie, you get in your truck and get yourself to the airport before you miss your flight!" He half yelled though the phone.

I rolled my eyes "Okay, don't have a cow."

"Don't sass me missy," my father chuckled.

I made a face at the phone "Yeah, yeah."

"I expect you here tomorrow," He said sternly.

"Or the day after," I reminded him, it may take longer.

"That's only if you get a hotel."

"I know."

"Alright pumpkin, I have got to get my gear together, love you."

"Love you too."

"Bye bye," he said.

I hung up and glanced in the mirror. My curly brown hair fell down to my mid back, I was wearing a black leather jacket, camo pants, black combat boots, and a black T-shirt. I wasn't going to get too dolled up for a flight, it wasn't worth it.

When I was satisfied with my look, I snatched up my keys, phone, headphones, and a pack of gum to pop my ears when I landed.

Surprisingly, the witch was nowhere to be seen. Weird...very weird. I thought she'd try to nag me out the door.

I got into my red ford truck and started the 20 minute drive to the airport. I popped a Halestorm Cd in. Freak like me, my favorite, came on and I started to jam out in my truck.

'I'm on the train that's pullin the sick and twisted,
Makin the most of the ride before we get arrested,
We're all wasted,
And we're not going home tonight.

Covered in black we lack the social graces,
Just like an animal we crawl out of our cages,
They can't tame us,
So if you're one of us, get on the bus

If you're a freak like me,
Wave your flag!
If you're a freak like me,
Get off your ass!
It's our time now,
To let it all hang out

So shout if you're a freak like me,
You were born to burn,
This is no disease you don't need a cure!
It's our time now to come out!
If you're a freak like me!
If you're a freak like me!

We're underground but we will not surrender,
We're gonna give them something to remember, yeah,
So write your name in gasoline,
And set that shit on fire

If you're a freak like me,
Wave your flag!
If you're a freak like me,
Get off your ass!
It's our time now,
To let it all hang out

So shout if you're a freak like me,
Don't apologize,
They can't hold you down,
You were born to rise!
It's our time now to come out!
