contrary to amelia's initial thoughts, everything was not fine. dolores umbridge was horrible, and she did not care to hide it. slowly, she began taking over every aspect of life at hogwarts, her rules seemingly suffocating every single student in attendance.
"merlin, i hate her." fred huffed as he sat down next to amelia in the gryffindor common room.
"who?" amelia asked, doodling on her transfigurations homework. "umbridge?"
"mhm." fred sighed, laying his head on amelia's shoulder. "you know apparently there's this new rule...we're technically breaking it right now." he slowly intertwined his fingers with hers, forcing amelia to stop what she was doing.
"and what's that?" amelia asked, looking over at fred as he played with the rings on her fingers.
"some bullshit about boys and girls not being within 8 inches of each other."
amelia sighed. she really wanted her last year at hogwarts to be the best one yet, but it was becoming increasingly difficult.
"we'll be okay, yeah?" amelia kissed fred's head of messy hair. "only a couple months left and then we're out of here."
"yeah." fred looked up at her. "me and you against the world, right?"
"always."
