Chapter 17

Lia's POV

It was December 15, meaning today's my flight back to the Philippines. I've informed some of my friends regarding it, and they were really excited. My former school always holds a three-day event to celebrate the school's year of existence, and tomorrow will be the official start of the event. Though I'll be visiting on the second and third day, to allow one day for my relatives. I was already on the plane. In 30 minutes, we'll be landing in Manila. It feels surreal to go back to my home country.

About Sonobot, we decided not to bring him to the Philippines. She also insisted that she stays with Boboiboy to be extra safe. I'm sure she's in good hands. Boboiboy takes care of Ochobot very well, no doubt he'll do the same with Sonobot.

The plane landed, we waited for the signal to get out of the plane. Once we got out of the plane, we went to the immigration area then to the carousel to claim our bags. I was so happy. I can't wait to see our old house, my relatives, and of course my friends.

When we got our bags, my dad led us outside. There was a car waiting for us; someone got out of it and to my surprise, it was one of my older brothers.

"Kuya!" I exclaimed, running to him. It was my second older brother, Ron. "Wow, you look taller." I rolled my eyes, "Aish. That's what you're going to tell me after not seeing me for months? Whatever!" He laughed then pat my head, "Biro lang. Hot-headed mo talaga noh!" (Just kidding. You're really hot-headed)

He greeted mom and dad and helped us load our bags to the car. Once we got it, he drove us out of the airport area. "It's a good thing you're available today, where's Tony?" My dad asked.

"Uhm... He said he has something to do with his classmates. School-related, I guess." Ron shrugged. "On a Sunday? Hey, are you guys resting from your schoolwork? I know it's difficult, but at least take a break." My mom said, pouting.

"Don't worry mom, we do take breaks. Medyo mahirap lang gawin 'yun pag taga UP." He sighed. (It's a bit difficult to do that when you're from UP)

I always admired how hardworking my brothers were. Tony was taking up his Master's degree in Public Administration, while Ron was in his last year, taking up Biology. Sometimes I wished I was as great as them, but I know that I'm great in my own way. I feel a bit envious that they get to study in their dream universities. As for me, it looks like I'll be taking college in Malaysia, but that's okay. I know I'll still do great and be successful.

"So, how's life there? Were you able to make friends?" Ron asked me. "Uhm... Yeah. At first, it was hard but I got the hang of it." I smiled, then I pulled out my phone from the bag and opened it. It was currently 5:30 PM, I decided to check on the group chat I was in with the rest of the gang.

130 unread messages

I'm not surprised. Having all of them in one group chat is honestly chaotic. Gopal will all of a sudden blabber about something, while Ying and Yaya constantly challenge each other with some things. I guess they don't like using private messages, huh?

Leizel

@Lia de Vera miss you already :<

Yaya

Me too :/

I hope you liked the biscuits I gave you; you can eat it during the flight

I sighed. The truth is, I actually threw away her biscuits because of the fact it makes people faint. Plus, she puts fried onions in it. Who even does that? Yet I messaged her a thank you.
