Walking out of the examination hall, her eyes going over the question paper and marking out the question she has attempted, Meera's eyes snappily ceased when she came across him.

Krish, who paid the least concentration to his surroundings, done with his papers seemed to be in a haste, his feet however wavered as he traversed her.

Staring up, she met with his eyes, sombre yet depleted, as she tried reading beyond them until he broke the spell in between by resuming his walk.

"Krish!" His heart rebounded, feet prolonging to take a step as he felt her bridging the gap in between before coming in front.

Dropping his gaze to her eyes, dismal yet so intriguing, he clasped his fist on finding apprehension in them for him "How are you?"

Disbelief of her, his eyes stoic, he let out a chuckle "That's funny coming from you, Ms Varanasi. Aren't you the heartbroken one?"

Eyes creasing over on his face contort with a smirk, Meera smiled gradually while enthralling him along "Who told you I'm heartbroken?"

"No wonder you're poor at studies. Such a fragile memory, tch! Or has my rejection taken a toll on your brain?" His pitiful laced mockery made Meera take a vivid whizz as she gripped the paper in her hold, his eyes heeding her crumbling the paper as he clicked his tongue "Poor, Meera. Just tell me how many lashes have your Hitler of a brother rained on you?"

Letting out a breathy smile, once again knocking his heart, Meera answered "None, but yes, he did announce he is going to wed me off."

Gone was the conceit, as he stood fixing his nonchalantly baffled gaze with her while Meera chuckled "What, didn't amaze you much?"

"Ridiculous." Getting over the momentary shock, he grunted tugging on his backpack "Who does just wed someone for such a trivial subject? You're just bluffing to get my attention. But let me be clear. These cheap tricks won't work on Krish Fatehpuria."

"Playing tricks is not my thing, Fatehpuria. It's rather your calibre." She retorted instead sweetly making him look away, his jaw clenching as Meera glimpsed into his face "As for me bluffing, it's you who is doing so with your feelings for me. Because Meera has come to understand her Krish and she knows her Krish feels as much his Meera feels for him."

"Jeez, pathetic! Get over your delusion." Hissing under his breath, his heart rather ready to elope upon her words, he instead threw her a stink eye before parading his way away from her, her smile widening while trailing behind until he was yielded from her sight.

She will have him come around soon, Meera swore.

Drizzle and droplets gliding through the glasses of the car's window had fortunately occupied Nandini's mind from the queasiness she has been feeling all this while, as she sat lethargically in the seat with her head resting on the backrest, legs pulled up whilst watching them drive through the hills of Sikkim.

The flight had been palpably wearisome for her with an apathetic husband who either was on his phone before dozing off the entire journey, not that she complained knowing his night had been spent sleepless.

Nonetheless, the least expectation she had from him went into the bin when even after landing and getting on the ride which was waiting at Bagdogra airport to take them to their resort in Gangtok, he incited no talk, just a grunt of few words to steer her in the car before they were ready to start the journey from Siliguri to Sikkim.

They have been on National Highway 10 for the last three hours, and with the little knowledge she has, they were still one hour away from their destination.
