Gasping out of his slumber, Manik peeled open his eyes, his unsettled sight wavering around the darkness of the room, before he forced himself up to sit and turn the lamp beside on.

Half-past twelve, the clock on the wall showed.

An hour of sleep.

Rubbing his face, his forehead damp with cold sweat, Manik sighed. He couldn't do it anymore. His insomnia was enervating him in a way which he couldn't define.

Gazing at his phone on the side table, Manik contemplated before taking it.
Tapping over on the screen, musing for a moment of ringing her or not, he chucked the idea tossing his phone away.

Ringing her won't work for him. Thus, he did what he felt was the right thing to do.

Treading his way as cautious as he could, he made his way up to the terrace. Crossing the boundary wall in the middle, he let out a breath before testing his luck all over again.

Pushing the door slowly, Manik licked his lips wet when it un-magically opened. Lips pressed thin, Manik expressed his gratitude to his stars along with cursing Aloke for being so irresponsible for forgetting to lock the terrace door.

Tip- toeing his way through the alley of the staircase, he halted right out her room. Peeking through the door which was half ajar, he made his way inside, his feet effortlessly taking him to where his heart reside, before he crouched down on his knees near the side of the bed where she slept cocooning the little guy Sloke in her arms.

Softening on the sight before him, Manik felt a peculiar wave of relief coursing down his nerve, as he relaxed just with the given vision of her.

Letting his head rest with his arm supported on the bed, Manik stayed just watching her sleep, until she shuffled over, her eyes momentarily opening and grinning imaginarily making him smile in return "Hey!"

"Mhmm!" She hummed unconsciously with a smile and closing her eyes right later mumbling "Stop being irresistible even in my dream."

Chuckling huskily, Manik tucked away the stray strands on her face "So you mean you find me irresistible when you are in your senses, huh?"

Humming a positive response, Nandini grasped his palm over her cheeks, his beam widening when she blinked once softly at him "You're real."

Smirking under his breath, he leaned over her whispering "Very real."

Gaze freezing and widening a moment later, Nandini sat up abruptly, her hair sticking to her face which she brushed away wildly between staring down at his amused face "Manik!"

"Nandini." He smiled, his lips tweaking in enliven.

"What are you doing here?" Disbelief sheer in her whisper, Nandini stared at him now wide awake before looking around "and how did you get inside?"

"The door of your room was not shut." He replied with a matter of fact while she shook her head "I don't lock my door, Manik because Sloke keeps waking up searching for his mother in the middle of the night. But that's not the main question. How did you exactly made it inside the house?"

Shugging his shoulder, Manik commented "So why make him sleep with you? Let him be with his parents and bug them. Especially that Aloke. This two father and son duo are anyway a big time third wheel in between us."
Snorting, he ignored her queries only for her to squint her eyes a little at him and him to roll his eyes "Okay. I came from the door of the terrace. And you for sure don't look like you're delighted of seeing me here."
