Carlon's Past (Part 3)

On the borderline, the defenders from Zealuterra are having a hard time as their numbers are getting smaller and the number of enemies is increasing making them pushed back and cornered.

'Ugh.. we have to hold on..' One of the knights who was panting and whose arm was hurt said while looking around.

Suddenly there was a scream of pain from the crowd of enemies and it was getting closer to them.

'W-what is that?' One of the defending knights looked where the screams were coming from and saw the Zealuterra reinforcements breaking through the enemy troops.

'F-finally..' They sighed and gripped their swords tightly and continued the fight with hope rising.

'ATTACK!' The Zealuterra Reinforcements shouted simultaneously making the Vivid troops feel the pressure.

'DO NOT FEAR THEM! THEY JUST ONE REINFORCEMENT, ATTACK THEM!' Vivid's squad screamed and rushed at the Zealuterra reinforcements.

Instantly, the battle was equal and the Zealuterra Reinforcements managed to defend back the Zealuterra lines. Carlon gripped his sword tightly and slashed at the enemy leaving his hand severed and badly injured but not dead.

'AAAGH! It hurts.. MY HANDS, HELP ME!' The Vivid Knight was seriously injured and felt excruciating pain and the bleeding in his severed hand made him pale and felt the fear of death, but his screams of pain were ignored by friends and foes alike because this was war.

Carlon saw that he started to feel uncomfortable and felt guilty but tried to restrain him and continuing his war, Carlon tried to kill him but could not bear to see the wounded knight with an expression fear of death like humans in general. Suddenly the knight's neck was cut and his head rolled towards Carlon killing him instantly.

'DON'T JUST STAY THERE, THIS IS A BATTLEFIELD!' The Zealuterra Knight shouted to Carlon and woke him up.

'Ugh..!' Carlon gripped his sword and continued the battle and killed the enemies.

The Zealuterra Knights slowly managed to reduce the enemy's numbers and take back some of the territory on the border, but their efforts were in vain as Vivid's growing army with reinforcements proved that Vivid was a powerful kingdom.

'ATTACK!' The Zealuterra and Vivid armies simultaneously shouted the same thing and fought for their respective kingdoms.

Carlon continuously fought Vivid's troops and began to doubt something in himself, screams of pain that echoed in the air, blood spilled everywhere, and the cries of a knight who was dying and wanted to meet his family made Carlon lost in his thoughts.

"W-what is this... is this really.. the right thing..?" Carlon was deep in thought and questioned whether what he was doing was the right thing or the wrong thing.

Carlon kept fighting and killing Vivid's troops as he heard things that were troubling him more and more.

'AAAGH!' 'UGH...' 'AAHH IT HURTS!' Screams of pain echoed through the air as well as explosions and the sound of crying from someone who missed his family.

On the other hand, the Commander of the Zealuterra Squad stood facing the Commander of the Vivid Squad and exchanged names.

'I am Glenn, Commander of the Vivid Squad.' Glenn smirked as if underestimating his enemy.

'I am Regnier, Commander of the Zealuterra Army' Regnier looked at Glenn with a sharp gaze.

'Heh.. today you will die along with the destruction of the kingdom of Zealuterra!' Glenn rushed at Regnier and channeled his mana into his sword.

'...Zealutera will live on as long as the spirit of justice of the Zealuterra Knights lives on.' Regnier quickly channeled his mana into the blade and slashed it forward straight at Glenn

Glenn who saw that immediately focused his mana into his two legs and jumped very high above the sky and slashed his sword making slashes of mana fall from the sky and attacked Regnier, the slash cut deep into the ground but Regnier did the same and slammed his mana slash into Glenn's mana slash caused a powerful explosion in the air. Glenn fell freely and slashed his sword once again in the air but Regnier immediately dashed towards him and slashed Glenn's sword making his mana slash miss and flew higher into the air, but Regnier fell free due to lost momentum after slashing Glenn making Glenn see an opportunity and grin.

'Rain Slashes!' Glenn adjusted his stance in the air and quickly slashed his sword making rain-like slashes of mana towards Regnier.

'...Mana Shock.' Regnier spread his hand and directed it towards Glenn's attack and flowed several streams of mana in front of his hand and collided the streams with each other and quickly changed the properties of the mana into electricity, due to the impact of the mana making the electricity forming a shield and blocking Glenn's attack.

'...Haha! YOU LET YOUR GUARD DOWN!' Regneir's eyes widened looking forward and noticing that Glenn was no longer in the air, he turned around and saw Glenn chanting magic right behind him.

'GROUND BURST!' Glenn released a wide area mana onto the ground and made the ground around them shake and explode.
