The day seamlessly transitioned into the next morning, marked by Yori's familiar wake-up call. My attempts to secure a job had proven futile, leaving me in a state of transient exhaustion. Despite the weariness, it was a slight improvement from the sleepless nights that plagued my initial days in this unfamiliar environment.

Navigating through my classes, I observed the distinct absence of Luka. The apparent division of students into different departments hindered my quest for answers, amplifying the growing intrigue surrounding Luka and his peculiar connection to the institution's affairs.

The academic environment, though opulent, housed a spectrum of characters – spoiled brats, arrogant individuals, and entitled personalities. My introspection led me to acknowledge that I was unaccustomed to such social interactions, having essentially raised myself in a family where parental involvement was conspicuously absent.

As the professor signaled the end of the class, I admitted to myself, "Oh, I must have gotten distracted." Despite the initial commitment to focus, the allure of my surroundings proved to be a compelling distraction.

With the day's academic responsibilities concluded, I found myself with time on my hands before returning for the evening program. The prospect of delving into the mysteries surrounding the institution and its peculiarities beckoned, renewing my determination to seek answers and understand the intricacies that unfolded within its walls.

The serene atmosphere of the campus lane led me to a quiet place rumored to be the site of an abandoned chapel. I decided to take a seat on a bench, positioned strategically to capture the melody of a nearby fountain. It struck me as peculiar – a fountain in a relatively secluded area, seemingly well-maintained despite the apparent lack of frequent visitors.

As I admired the fountain, its centerpiece drew my attention. A meticulously crafted statue depicting an angel on bended knees, an unusual posture for a figure assumed to be in prayer. I stood up, taking a closer look at the angel's eyes, only to realize they were wide open, defying the expected serene gaze of a prayerful being. Instead, the angel's expression seemed more like it's begging than  praying.

The attention to detail in the statue was remarkable – the intricate folds of the clothes, the finely rendered hands revealing veins and textured skin. Each element, aside from the disconcerting absence of pupils in the angel's eyes, added to the statue's overall perfection. Now face to face with it, the subtle sadness etched on the angel's face became more apparent, evoking an unexpected emotional response.

Despite the unease caused by the unblinking eyes, I found myself captivated by the beauty and craftsmanship of the statue. The unsettling nature of the angel's expression, coupled with the intricate details, created an intriguing dichotomy, leaving me with a mix of curiosity and discomfort in this quiet and mysterious corner of the campus.

The voice from behind me interrupted the tranquil moment near the fountain.

"Babe, let's go somewhere else; you know this place gives me the creeps. There's a reason why people call this place the gate to hell. People say that they stopped coming here because they always feel like this angel is watching them. There are all kinds of rumors surrounding the angel!" the woman exclaimed. The man beside her laughed.

"Angels are supposed to always watch us. Just let the angels do their job," he said, and suddenly, I heard smooching sounds. I was taken aback – why were they kissing when someone else was present? I quickly turned my attention back to the angel statue. Red liquid seemed to be falling from its face, but as I looked down at the fountain, the water diluted it. I wondered if it was just my imagination or if something strange was happening.

As the couple finally moved away, I felt relieved. I wasn't ready to leave this mysterious spot just yet. However, my attention was soon drawn to a familiar sight – wavy brown hair.

"Luka, what are you doing here?" I asked.

"Huh, I didn't see you there," he replied, looking surprised. I couldn't help but wonder what had brought him to this secluded place, and perhaps there was an opportunity to ask him the questions I'd been holding onto.

I asked, "Are you looking for something?"

"Oh, no. I was just walking around," Luka replied timidly, avoiding eye contact and fidgeting. His behavior suggested there might be more to the story.

"I'll leave you to it, but I don't think you'll find anything of interest in this area. There's only an abandoned chapel if you follow this lane," I mentioned. He looked surprised.

"How do you know that? The area beyond those big fences is restricted. Even the older students don't know what's beyond those fences," he exclaimed.

I paused for a moment, realizing I had inadvertently revealed knowledge I shouldn't have. "I probably heard it from other students gossiping," I quickly replied, trying to downplay the situation.

Luka's gaze lingered on me, as if he wanted to say something. His attention then shifted to the fence a bit away from us.

"Are you curious about what's beyond those fences, Luka?" I asked.

"I-" but he was interrupted by approaching footsteps.

"My, what are the odds of meeting the two of you here," a voice interrupted.

We were startled and turned to see Yori's ever-smiling face. It seemed like this guy was everywhere.

"Are you thinking of going beyond those fences? Naughty," he teased.

"We weren't. We were just thinking about what's beyond those fences," I quickly replied.

"There's nothing interesting there," he said, his beautiful purple hair flowing in the wind.

"Please return back. It's almost time for the research program. You don't want to be late. Please follow me," he added.

I sighed and reluctantly followed him. Yori seemed shrewd, and I decided I should be wary of him. He had already prepared a car for us. Did Yori come here to get us? It didn't seem like he came there for business. If so, how did he know we were here?

I got in the front seat purposely. "I'm sorry, but I hope we didn't keep you waiting for long," I said to the driver.

"Oh, no need. I didn't wait for long. In fact, I think I only waited for five minutes," he replied. So, he came here directly.

"I'm sorry you had to come looking for us, Yori. I'll make sure to be on time tomorrow," I said, but he didn't say anything, just smiled.

Yori had just happened to come to that place and found us. If he was looking for us, why didn't he look in our respective departments instead of this random place where no one likes to be around?
