Below is a list of things which I think all writers should remember when writing, and for those who have already started writing, it is a list of things they wish they knew when they started writing. 


1)Doing your best is the best thing you can do. There is a fine line between learning from authors and trying to be them. Write the book you would want to read, not the one you think will win over the editor. 

2)Writing makes you a writer. Publishing only makes you a published writer. 

3)Everyone makes mistakes. You will rush and something isn't ready to go. You accept edits you should not accept. You will give unhelpful advice on other's draft work. Don't be prone to self-hatred

4)Don't ask people to read your work for free, unless you read their work for them. 

5) You can't write the pages you love without the pages you hate being written amongst them. All of it is necessary

6) There are no rules to writing only advice
