You guys have Xaharau to thank for this chapter, she asked me a question and I finally found the will to write.

Please leave tons of comments and press the star at the end before you leave.

"I've handed it all over to them. It's my sister's wedding and I want to enjoy every event, not worrying over how and where things will be. I'll go back to being an event planner after her wedding." I heard Falmata tell someone as I turned the corner into my room. These days I've changed houses so much that I have no idea where my room is anymore. From Kaka's Lagos house, my own house, Kaka's house in Abuja and then Baaba's presidential mansion and now Baaba's nine bedroom duplex in Maitama. I honestly cannot keep up.

My room here is a dream, in shades of teal and navy blue aesthetic that garnered over a million views when I gave a tour on my vlog, viewers praised it endlessly and I had my 'flip scarf' moment. They all forget my father and Bashir are ace architects, it's their job to design houses that others desperately want to live in. They better be able to make tasteful houses or hand back their degrees.

I walked through the already open door that let me hear the conversation between Falmata and her friend into my room, Falmata is rolling on my bed kicking her feet talking to her friend who is smiling and nodding. Immediately they noticed my presence, My sister flew up from her position in fear, she even tsked against her teeth. I have warned her about flopping on my bed with her dirty feet but she likes it when I slap her back much more  than obeying me.

"Yaya, sorry. I was so tired." I made a face and waved her off. No need to talk in front of her friends. Her friend introduced herself as Tauhidda and I blinked in Falmata's direction, asking her with my eyes 'Is this Munir's crush?'

Falmata looked towards Tauhidda before nodding imperceivably. I nodded back and welcomed her, walking to my little fridge to hand her a can of coke. She took it, looked through her little purse and took out a reusable straw. Hooking the straw between her lips, she seemed happier when she took a sip of the drink.

"I hope it won't be a bother for you?" She shook her head. Saying it would be a pleasure for her to be my vlog filmer while I'm busy enjoying my wedding. She smiled graciously before covering her mouth and letting out a burp from drinking coke.

"You know you don't have to film everything right? I just need videos of important moments that I might not be able to wait for from the videographer. Is that okay?" She agreed again, causing me to smile. My wedding kicks off in two days, settling this feels like the one millionth thing I think I have to do before my wedding.

The door sounded with a sharp knock and I frowned, I'm expecting no one. Maybe Huda because she's supposed to deliver my Friday afternoon lace today, I lean on my pillows and wait for Falmata to open the door and a pink silk scarf covered head peeks in, then it's the full face of Ikram Dambazzau-Sambo and I jumped up and ran like breeze to the door, jumped on my six feet tall, dark skinned very funny cousin. She picked me up and twirled me around before letting me down slowly.

Ikram is one of those people who own their bodies. She's the tallest woman I know and she stays wearing six inch heels and her favorite quote is "I like towering over everyone when I walk into a room", imagine having that personality added up with running a venture capitalist busniess. That's one heck of a confident woman, but she's my cousin. My Ikram.

The rest of my cousins from the Dambazzau-Sambo side walked in and either hugged me or cuffed my neck. My room crowded almost immediately and began to beat up so Ikram and Huda pulled me my closet where a Jade green suit set with a white turban was waiting for me, hanging from the chandelier hook and I finally noticed what was common with them all. They were all wearing suits, except for Falmata and Tauhidda who must have been in on the surprise too.

I didn't even cover my face before tears welled up in my eyes. I walked to Falmata and hugged her to cover the fact that my whole body trembled violently from shock. I don't deserve this unconditional love I receive from a family that had no idea I existed until literally a year and some months ago, they took me in, loved me so deeply, so thoughtfully, so kindly and turned my perception of love around. They taught me love.

"You guys." I finally turned around, finally scanning them all dressed in beautiful suits and jumpsuits all looking stunning. "Thank you so much for putting me in awe. This love," I pointed between us, still leaning on Falmata, "isn't taken for granted. Thank you all so much."

Huda, bless her heart walked to me and wiped my eyes with both her hands. I saw that the camera Falmata was supposed to give to Tauhidda to use tomorrow was sitting on the table and now in her hands. I smiled at them all and walked to the closet. Huda entered with me and helped me with my make-up, helping wear the sash that had "Beebah's Bridal tea Do" in gold italicized letters and I stepped out of the room.

Falmata is dressed already, in a rose pink suit and white turban wrapped around her head. She walked close to me and tied a soft cotton cloth around my eyes gently but firmly. Then I felt hands on my arms, leading me out of room into the coolness of the hallway, down the first set of stairs to the sunshine of halfway hallway, then the main living room because I can hear the ticking clock that irks the hell out of Munir everytime, but Baaba likes it so it's stays, then into the smell of freshly mowed grass sunned and dried.

I felt my feet encased in Steve Madden heels sink into the plushness of a rug and turned to ask Ya Hameedah who I can smell behind me where we are. She always wears a Tom Ford perfume always, and is Huda's eldest Sister.

"We're almost there." I hear the muted sounds of feet hitting the ground then I'm guided into a seat. I exhale, that was very exhilarating. I should try it sometime.

My blindfold was taken off and as I looked around, I took in beautiful shades of green and ivory used in decorating the venue of what Falmata called on the way here, my bridal luncheon. I jumped up from my seat in excitement, touching sage green balloons, ivory balloons congratulating me on my impending marriage and it took all of my will power not to burst into tears.

"…" I swallowed several times, simply speechless in the beauty that is this place. Asides the green tie-dye table cloth, the chairs are just an invention since there plush and comfortable, just as I would have liked it had I planned it myself. I fanned my eyes over and over, Huda will kill me if I mess this makeup.

The three hours that followed can easily take it's position as one of the best of my life. We all danced, laughed, ate, played games. Well they all tried to guess my dinner dress, Falmata had all my photos over the years combined into a collage and the other ladies guessed my age in each picture. It was fun explaining each picture. Then the best of all, we played the first-to-sit game, where whoever sits on a chair First leaves the rest standing. It was an uproar, a beautiful one nonetheless and now, standing in my barefeet, covered in glitter, I know my joy is full.
