"This is just a stupid promise our moms made when they were young, and probably drunk, why are you being so serious?"
Jake laughed in a worrying way.
"This is not just a stupid promise. Maybe your mom spared you until now, to not burden you, but I know how deep this wish's meaning is for them. And my mom is everything I have."
"What does it mean?" said Heeseung, half laughing. "Are you going to force yourself to marry me and then just live with it for the sake of your mom?"
"Of course not!"
Heeseung nodded.
"I'm going to keep taking this as seriously as I've been taking it until now, and I'm going to make this marriage promise work, whatever it takes."
Jake dived his gaze into Heeseung's eyes, and they stayed motionless, facing each other like this.
Until Heeseung let out:
"What?"
Jake nodded his head as to say "that's decided" and went back to his luggages.
"Hey, what did that mean!?"
"Are you going to help me unpack, or not? Mr Cordial," interrupted Jake.
Too stunned to fight, and not sure he really wanted to know what Jake meant, Heeseung started helping.
