After we left the Knight Corporation, we went back to my apartment. A few days passed by and we waited for Michael to give any information regarding Candice or Bill, but nothing.

On Saturday night, Finlay and I sat on my couch and watched ghost movies. That's what we have been doing all this time.

We watched different documentaries and movies related to ghosts and souls to understand his condition and searched for something to put him back in his body.

Finlay has also been practicing his powers and got a hang of it. He can lift small things in the air and I wondered what else he could do besides that and walking past doors and walls.

I was still having nightmares, and it was getting hard for me to sleep at night. Each time I was getting a glimpse of the little girl drowning. I knew it was me and it happened to me when I was six. I remembered little, but my mom told me I almost drowned in the lake and a little boy around ten years old saved me.

"The guy is in a coma, but his soul is in the cat's body." Finlay mumbled, analyzing 'Nine Lives' on the TV.

"Yup. You should have also gotten inside some animal, at least that way everyone could've seen you."

"Not like I had a choice." Finlay scoffed.

"But can you?" I asked.

"Can I what?" His brows knitted in confusion.

"Go into people's bodies? I mean, we have seen in movies that ghosts can possess anyone... Humans, animals, you name it."

"I don't know how to do it, Amber." He sighed and gestured his hands up and down his body. "This didn't come with an instruction manual."

"You can try..." I wiggled my brows.

"Who would be stupid enough to give their body for me to test-"

"I will," I said, and he looked at me with wide eyes like I lost some screw.

"What? Naw!"

"Why not?" I groaned. "Come on Fin, it'll be a great way to see what else you can do. Try it on me."

"I'm not getting in your body, Amber." I opened my mouth, but he cut me off. "Because one, I don't know how, and two, it can be dangerous."

"How will you know if you don't try?" I huffed.

"I will do nothing that could hurt you." He said, looking deep into my eyes, and my heart almost ceased. "I'm not taking a risk."

Never in my life have I ever had any guy worrying about me like him.

"But-"

"Shush and let me watch the movie."

I rolled my eyes and plopped my arm on the couch behind me. Leaning my head on my palm, I peeked at Finlay. His curious ocean gaze was glued to the TV, watching in anticipation. My eyes roamed over his brown hair, which was perfectly styled to his high cheekbones. His nose was sharp, and so was his jaw. My hands were itching to touch him, but I couldn't.

I mean, I literally couldn't touch him.

Finlay is a gorgeous guy and also decent. I thought it would be difficult to live with him, but it was the opposite. The guy is cheeky and teases me a lot, but he knows his boundaries. He's low maintenance since he eats nothing nor sleeps or takes any space.

He's a fun company to live with and I can't believe I'm about to say this, but he's grown on me and I'm getting used to him being around me.

"How will he get back into his body?" Finlay asked, jerking me out of my thoughts.

"If I tell you, it'll ruin the movie." I sighed, looking away from his gorgeous face. "Wait till the end."

"That's not fair!" He folded his arms and pouted like a kid. My eyes darted to his lips, and I swallowed hard. His lips were still moving, but I wasn't focused on what he was saying.

"Sorry, what?" I asked, clearing my throat.

"Do you think I'll get back into my body?"

"I don't know, Fin."

"The longer I'm like this, the more it feels impossible."

"I never asked you this, but... How did you feel the day of your accident?" I motioned to his body. "When you woke up like this."

"It was a bloody nightmare... The last thing I remember was waking up and seeing paramedics all around me. I got up and asked them what was going on, but naw one answered." Sighing, he ran his hands over his face and continued.

"I looked around and saw ambulances and police cars and officers. Many people were gathered around a wracked car and saw the paramedics getting someone on the stretcher. When I went near it, I saw myself barely recognizable, covered in blood and injuries." He glanced down at his hands and murmured.

"I screamed and asked them what was going on but naw one listened to me and they walked past me, making me horrified. I didn't know what else to do, so I got in the ambulance with my body and went to the hospital."

"I'm... I'm so sorry to hear that Fin." My eyes darted between his sad blue ones and I had this sudden urge to hug him tightly and say that it'll be all ok.

"Don't be... Because I thought I was about to get mad, but then I heard you." He chuckled. "It was hilarious to watch your reaction, but I was over the moon that you could see me. It was like a miracle." He gave me his dimple smile, making my heart flutter. "You're really special."

"I-I am not." I felt my face getting hot.

"I wish I could hug you right now."

I wish that too.

I stared at him with wide eyes and suddenly the room felt smaller than before. We were sitting next to each other and even though he was a soul; I felt something radiating from him.

The image of him touching me with his big hands crossed my mind. How nice will it be to run my hands into his brown locks and feel the silkiness of them? His soft pink-looking lips over mine, clashed together as we drown in each other. I rubbed my thighs together and cleared my throat.

"I-I'm going to sleep." I fake yawned and got up from my seat before I jumped on him.

"But the movie!" He looked at me in disbelief.

"I've already watched it and it's almost twelve."

"It's not like you have work tomorrow." He frowned. "Please stay and watch it with me."

The way he looked at me with his hopefully blue eyes made my knees go weak and I almost gave in, but I shook my head and cleared the dirty pictures that were coming to my head.

"But I need my beauty sleep." I plastered a smile and walked to my room, which was just a few steps ahead.

Darting to the bathroom, I gripped the counter and took a deep breath.

Get a hold of yourself, Amber!

You are having nasty thoughts about a ghost!

F**k, I need to get laid.

I patted my red cheeks to get a hold of myself and did my business. I was brushing my teeth when I heard my phone ringing.

"It's an unknown number!" Finlay yelled.

"I'm coming!" I spit the paste and washed my mouth, then ran outside to the living room.

"Hello?" I asked, picking up the call.

"It's Michael."

"How did you get my number?" I frowned.

"Kayla." He gave a short answer, making me roll my eyes.

"What do you want?"

"Bill is here."

That was enough for him to say.
