Silly Children and A Dark Past

Tazuna, Y/n and Sakura walks through the town to shop for groceries. Sakura spectates her surroundings and the citizens living there.

They were in need. Many were poor, starving, wore rags and were homeless. What's worse were the children also having to experience this..some even resulting to steal in order to survive.

'What's wrong with these people?' Sakura thought.

The three arrived at a market.

...if you can even call it that.

There was barely anything in the store...just scraps. Barely enough to support even one person...

Y/n looked around, grimacing with Sakura reacting the same way.

'This is a store? There's nothing here.'

Sakura felt a hand brush up against her. Quickly reacting, she roundhouse kicked the person behind her with great force. "You pervert!" She yelled. Hearing all this, Y/n quickly turned around and saw man lied unconscious in a twisted position.

"Oh my." She mumbled. "Are you okay, Sakura? What happened?"

"I'm fine, sensei. I put that creep in his place." Sakura huffed, now wanting to just hurry up and leave.

"Wow, you really surprised me back there. Girls around her don't fight like that." Tazuna started. The trio was on their way back home.

"They should. Something's seriously wrong here." Sakura said. She then growled when she felt something touch her again. She turned around and immediately lashed at the person but cutting herself off once she saw that it was just a little kid.

The kid smiled and held out his hands. "Please?"

Feeling bad, Sakura handed him some candy she from her bag. The kid thanked her then ran off.

'That little boy is soo adorable. I wonder if I could take him with me.' Y/n thought.

"This is how it's been since Gato came here. The children suffer and the children are afraid to step up to him."

Sakura and Y/n stare at Tazuna. "They lost all hope. That's why we have to finish the bridge."

"It will bring commerce and trade. But much more importantly, that bridge is a symbol of courage. We must restore the spirit of our people."

"When the bridge is finished, people will start to believe again. They'll believe that they can live with dignity. We can't let Gato stop us."

'We have to help them.' Sakura thought.

"So that's why..." Y/n spoke. "Building a bridge to save your people while under the constant threat of assassins takes a lot of guts. I apologize for threatening you back then." She said to the old man.

"Ah, it's alright. C'mon let's head back."

"Right."

Meanwhile with Naruto and Sasuke. They were still competing on stabilizing their chakra to walk up a large tree.

So far, little by little, they are slowly reaching the top but still not there due to Sasuke using too much chakra, and Naruto, too little.

The two ran up the tree again, scratching another mark on the tree higher than the previous. Naruto reached his limit and fell back down while Sasuke continued to climb.

'He's still climbing..that's impossible.'

Sasuke marks his tree before falling down as well but not before grimacing at Naruto's progress slowly catching up to his.
