Chapter 30

~Saphira~

  I watched as Amanda paced nervously and bit at her fingernails.

  "Something's wrong, I can feel it." Amanda said worriedly as she shook her head.

  "I'm sure everything is fine." I whispered because I knew that if I talked she would hear the worry in my voice.

  Saphira, I'm outside. I need your help.

  I heard Trevor say through mind link.

  Whatever you do, do not let Amanda come.
  My brows furrowed in confusion.

  Why couldn't Amanda come?

  Why did he need my help?

  I turned to Amanda and Ella, "I'll be back, I need some air." I said.

  They both nodded and Amanda continued her nervous pacing and finger nail biting.

  I walked outside and immediately saw Trevor in his human form with a guy in his arms.

  The guy had blonde hair and I got a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach when I got closer.

  "Simon!" I couldn't help but yelp out when I saw his limp body in my brother's arms.

  I heard the door to the house open and turned to see Amanda, Ella, and Austin racing outside.

  I don't know where Austin came from, but maybe he heard me yelp out Simon's name.

  Amanda stopped dead in her tracks when she saw her beloved.

  Tears filled her eyes as she took a step forward.

  "Simon?" she whispered.

  Tears fell down her face as she rested her hand on his cheek.

  "Is he..." she trailed off through the tears.

  I stepped forward and placed my hand on his chest. It was so quiet, so shallow, so alone, but his heart beat was there, and it was getting slower by the minute.

  "No, but he needs help now." I said.

  Amanda stopped Trevor and I when we went to walk inside.

  "My blood." she whispered staring at Simon's body.

  "What?" I questioned.

  "He's my beloved, my blood will heal him faster." she said with hope in her voice.

  Her blood would heal him, but it could also do something else.

  "Amanda it's too risky, he could change." Trevor said.

  "I have to, he might die if I don't!" Amanda exclaimed.

  "He could go vampire." Austin interjected.

  "I know but I have to, please let me save him." Amanda said as more tears streamed down her face.

  I looked at Trevor to find his face holding a conflicted expression. He caught my eye and sighed deeply before nodding.

  "If you must." I whispered staring at Simon's almost lifeless body.

  We rushed inside and Trevor set Simon's body onto the couch as easily as he could.

  "Okay." Trevor said taking a step back.

  Amanda stepped forward and kneeled down next to Simon.

  I saw her reach her hand up towards her mouth and press it against her lips.

  When she pulled it away two hole like bite marks were left.

  Blood lined the marks and started to leak out onto her wrist.

  She quickly parted Simon's lips and held her dripping wrist above them.

  I watched as three drops of blood fell from her fresh wounds and down into his open mouth.

  She withdrew her hand and sat there watching Simon, hoping for his eyes to open or flutter or even twitch.

  "Please Simon." she whispered.

  I watched as she leaned forward on her knees.

  "Please wake up Simon, I love you."

she whispered softly into his left ear.

  His eyes shot open, causing me to gasp.

  He turned his head slowly to face Amanda.

  "I had the strangest dream." he said groggily.

  "That wasn't a dream." Austin piped up.

  Simon's eyes widened as he looked at Amanda.

  "You said..." he trailed off.

  "I said I love you." Amanda replied.

  Simon looked up at me and I smiled and nodded.

  "I..." he trailed off again at a loss for words.

  Amanda seemed to be extremely hurt by this as she stood up and ran out if the living room, leaving us all there to stare blankly at each other.

  "Nice." Austin said as he followed after his sister.

  Very nice.
