Meanwhile, Gia climbed into the car, allowing the door to be closed behind her. Still typing on her phone, she could feel eyes on her. She didn't lift her head but glanced towards the piercing stare of Anna.

"Who was on the phone?" Anna crossed her arms firmly in front of her. Her voice was stern but curious.

"Alright mum. Nosy much." Gia joked, not look up from her phone but could sense Lochlan sniggering to himself in the front passenger seat. She could feel Anna's disapproving look. Finally, Gia sighed, dropping her phone into her lap and turned to Anna. "It wasn't work related."

"Oh, I could tell," Anna scoffed. "Lochlan did you see her smiling at her phone?" Lochlan felt trapped. There was no winning this conversation, no matter who he sided with. He decided he was best kept tight-lipped.

"Oh, what crime Anna I smiled." Gia rolled her eyes.

"Hey, I'm just trying to look out for you." Anna allowed her arms to drop, softening her presence. "I'm your friend Gia, that's the only reason I'm bring it up. You are old enough to do what you want but I just don't have a good feeling about this."

"About what?" Gia asked a little too quickly.

"Dr Reid." Anna spoke his name quietly trying to not let the bitterness in her voice evident.

"Ha, what exactly do you think is going on. Nothing is going on. Like at all." Gia announced, turning her head to look out the window.

Lochlan cleared his throat.

"Anna has a point G. The whole reason I'm here is to be oversuspicious about people, but this just feels different." Gia's eyes narrowed as she pieced together what they meant. "I think you know it too. That's why you are falling into it so fast. You are never like this."

"I am not falling into anything." Gia enunciated every word through gritted teeth. "We are just being friendly."

"Gia it's fine to admit you like him. I'm actually glad. You are young, but I was beginning to think that nobody would ever pique you interest. I'm sure Dr Reid is a great guy, but something is just irking me about the whole thing. I can't explain it." Anna went onto explain.

Gia laughed it off.

"You two are getting so serious about this. I barely know the guy. Trust me it's not going anywhere," she reassured them. In her mind it was kind of true. She didn't think or plan on this being much more. "Shall we talk about what we are actually supposed to be discussing. Do you want to tell us why we had to wake up so early on a Sunday morning Lochlan." She tried to change the topic.

"Yes," Lochlan responded, relieved that she had. He adjusted himself in his seat and gave Anna a pointed look, as if to tell her to drop it for now. "SSA Coleman was informed on the progress the research made. His team has been scanning activity on message boards for a while. Almost immediately after the good news on Friday, message boards had a massive influx in traffic. I think he is downplaying it, but he said some of it was a cause for concern. So, he wants us to come in and revise the existing security procedures."

"Revise it how?" Gia leaned her head back against the seat.

"Increase it, most likely. The rest will become clear when we arrive at the Boston Head Quarters."

The sat in silence for the remainder of the journey.

When they arrived in the underground carpark, they were greeted by a SSA Coleman, who shook each of their hands and apologised profusely for calling them in. He led them through the car park and into the lift.

Th six of them, Gia; Anna; Lochlan; Noah; Evie and Jack, accompanied by SSA Coleman and SSA Langdon (the woman in the black suit) filed into the lift. Given the situation they didn't talk much.

Upon exiting the 7ftx7ft metal box, they were shown to a large conference room.

"Good morning everyone, I once again apologise for dragging you all in here at this time, but we have had some important developments over the last 48 hours." SSA Coleman clasped his hand together as he delivered the news. "Some recent activity has stricken as a possible security risk so we would like to take the appropriate precautions. That is why I flew up here from Virginia when I found out. SSA Langdon, here, is handling your safety while you are in Boston." He gestured towards her and she returned a smile to each and everyone in the room. "While all is well for now, we would like to keep it that way. There will be some stricter protocols implements upon the request of the Health Secretary."

"What kind of protocols?" Anna questioned.

"For starter tighter security on Campus, particularly at your lab. Similarly, for your residence, we will be tightening things up too. We will coordinate that with Lochlan. Also, this is not a order, more of a request. We would prefer it if you stuck together as much as possible. Not only will it make it easier to keep a track of you but it's likely safer. Any questions?"

Gia pursed her lips. This is not what she had signed up for when she began expanding her research. As if they didn't already have enough to worry about, it was becoming a logistical nightmare.

"So, what we just stay at the apartment?" Noah groaned.

"This is for your safety Noah." Coleman replied sympathetically.

"Some of us were heading back to the UK, potentially over thanksgiving." Evie spoke up as she rested her had on Noah's shoulder.

Coleman interrupted before she could finish.

"Not a problem at all. We can coordinate that. You are free to do as you please like I said. It's just a suggestion that's all. We would appreciate to be kept in the loop. It makes things easier. Another suggestion is to break up your routine. It makes it harder for someone with malicious intent to target you if you take different routes to and from the campus. You don't visit the same coffee shop at the same time every day. You don't run at the same route at the same time. Etcetera. Same with the lab. I know it's harder for you to plan that, but maybe go in at different times. That sort of things."

"What about the security concerns that have cropped up?" Lochlan was determined to find out as much as he could.

"We have people working on it. Prevention is always better than cure."

"You are basically telling us we are in danger but won't tell us what is being done about it!" Jack exclaimed.

"Come on Coleman, give us something." Lochlan instigated.

"As I said some disturbing activity on some message boards have been highlighted. We are working with tech analysts, programmers, codebreakers, language specialists and profilers to figure it all out. I've even been in contact with the unit chief of the BAU. They are all on board."

"So you're not going to give us details on who they could be, what they are saying, what they want, what they might do?" Lochlan resisted.

Gia sat silently through the rest of the meeting as all the protocols were explained to the group. What a downer she thought.
