You smile when your daughter climbs up in your husband's lap. These two have been inseparable lately and it's so sweet.

"What's wrong baby?" Brantley asks, rubbing her back.

"I wanna go to work with you." She whimpers, looking up at him with the same eyes he has.

He looks at you. "What am I supposed to do?"

"It's too cold, baby." You say softly.

"I wanna go to work with you." Her words hurt his heart. She rests her head against his chest and sighs.

"Its so cold." He whispers back, running his hand over her hair. "But when I get home, we can play outside and color and-"

"But dad..." She gives him the biggest puppy dog eyes.

"I gotta work in the daytime, baby."

She says nothing as she rests her head against his chest again.

"It's too cold to be working with daddy outside today." You try to reason but your words mean nothing to their bond.

"I don't even wanna go." He mumbles.

She lifts her head and smiles. "Really?"

"I don't wanna go."

"Then- then you'll stay home?"

He looks over at you then back at your daughter. "Lemme call my boss."
