"You ok, Sky?" Kat sat at the desk to my left as Amy sat in front of me.

I looked at them both then looked down. "I'm ok..." I nodded.

"Are you sure?" Amy asked with concern.

"Yeah." I smiled. I glanced at Brody for a moment then looked away as he walked into the classroom. He walked to the desk on my right and sat down. I let out a deep breath.

Jay walked in and sat in front of Brody. "Man practice tonight is going to be killer."

"Yeah..." Brody said quietly.

"What's up Bro?" Jay looked at him.

"It's nothing." Brody said.

"What's going on with you dude? You've been pushing everyone away..." Bailey said as he sat behind him.

"I just have a lot going on at home. I'm sorry... I don't mean to push you guys away." Brody sighed as he rubbed his eyes.

"Bro, we are here if you need to get shit off your chest. You know this." Jay said.

If anyone could get Brody to talk, it's Jay or Bailey. Those three were friends before kindergarten. I glanced at Brody for a moment then looked down at my desk. "I know..." Brody finally said.

Class dragged on and I found myself trying too hard to focus on what the teacher was saying. My mind kept going back to Brody and me being curious as to what he has going on at home. Or is that just an excuse he is using to get Jay and Bailey to back off.

Once the bell rang I put my books in my bag and stood up at the same time Brody did and fell back. I slowly looked up at Brody. "Pay attention, Sky..." Brody huffed and reached for my arm.

I flinched as I turned away from him. "I can get up by myself..." I said and slowly stood up. I grabbed my bag and rushed out the door.

"Sky?" Kat said with concern as I rushed down the hall.

I stopped by my locker and placed my hand on my chest as I took a deep breath. "Hey..." Brody grabbed my arm.

I flinched and smacked him. "Don't touch me!" I snapped. I took a step back as I stared at him.

Brody stared at me for a long moment. "I wasn't going to hurt you, Sky..."

"I don't care what you were or weren't going to do... Don't touch me." I folded my arms.

"Ok... " Brody huffed. "What's going on with you?"

"Why do you care?" I sighed.

"I'm curious..." Brody said.

"Nothing... Nothing is going on with me. Now leave me alone." I said with a glare.

"Who are you trying to convince, me or yourself?" Brody asked.

"Go away!" I snapped.

"Hey." Owen walked over to us. "Brody, come on... Don't bug her this year." Owen placed his hand on my shoulder then he looked at me for a long moment. "Sky, what's wrong? You're really tense..."
