Chapter 14

Rewind(Her)

╚═*.·:·.✧ ✦ ✧.·:·.*═╝

Several months earlier(Barbie's P.O.V):

Today was a great day.

"Hi Barbie!"

A great, beautiful and wonderful day.

"Hi Barbie!"

The world around you was beautiful, the beach was amazing and simply, everything was perfect.

"Hi Barbie!"

You walked toward Ken who was standing with his usual blue beachwear on, waving at you with that sweet smile of his.

"Hi Ken!" You smiled before looking around him to look for his surfboard, "No surfboard today?"

"No, president said we are greeting a newcomer," Ken explained as he looked at you with a small smile, "she said Mattel made her specially for us."

"For us?" You asked puzzledly, "Why?"

"I don't know," He shrugged before giving you a clueless expression, "They just said we'd like it."

You looked at him puzzledly trying to figure out just what he meant by that but was cut short when the president called out to you.

"Oh! Ken! Barbie!"

The president walked closer to you with someone following right behind her.

"Here's Raquelle," she smiled as she motioned toward the girl that was standing right beside her, "She was sent today by Mattel."

You looked beside her, only to be met with a girl with black hair glaring right at you.

"Hi! nice to meet you Raquelle, I'm Barb-"

"Right, Barbie, I know," she rolled her eyes before looking back at you, "Everybody knows you."

"Right...of course you would know, " You said with a half smile before talking again, "and this is Ken. I'm sure you know him too."

Raquelle took a quick glance toward him before nodding and crossing her arms over her chest, "Well yeah, I mean there's no Ken without Barbie, so I would assume there's no Barbie without Ken too."

You couldn't help but smile at her attempt to be so dismissing toward you. It was like a watching a wild cat hiss at you for walking too close to it.

"Well good to see you're getting along," the president said before giving you a big grin, "Would you mind showing Raquelle around Barbieland and into her Mansion? I'm kind of busy today so sadly I will not be able to show her around."

"Of course! I would love to!"

"Thank you so much Barbie," She gave you a relieved smile before giving Raquelle a goodbye hug and turning around to go.

During the whole guiding trip, you and Ken were happily showing her around. Ken kept trying to impress you, like always, by showing off the beach-as usual-and his surfboards.

You meanwhile, just kept your gaze on Raquelle as you showed her around. You didn't understand why she didn't seem happy to be here. I mean it was Barbieland. Everybody loved to be here.

"Are you not happy to be here?" You asked turning to her as you walked toward her mansion.

"No, of course not. I love being in a world where Barbies and Kens are everywhere and everything," She said sarcastically while keeping her eyes on the road.

"Right..."

After that, you didn't say anything back to her and quietly made your way to her mansion.

"Here we are," You motioned to the big mansion that sat behind the Barbies' dreamhouses. "This is your mansion."

"Oh, cool," she simply said before opening the door entering without saying anything else.

You stopped her right before she could close the door and gave her a small smile, "Actually there's a giant blowout party tonight, with choreographed dance and a bespoke song, just like every other day of course an-"

"Can you hurry up?" She said annoyingly as she looked back at you.

"Oh-right sorry, I wanted to invite you tonight for a welcoming party," You said cheerfully as you looked back at Ken with a smile before looking back at her, "So what do you say?"

"No thank you."

She closed the door, and you were left hanging outside with Ken and a dumbfounded expression. You didn't understand what just happened. Why someone would even refuse an invitation to their own welcoming party.

After what happened, you tried everything to make her warm up to you. You tried hanging out with her, baking her some cakes, inviting her to more parties, but strangely, she never accepted any of it. Instead, it looked like the more you tried to get closer to her, the further away she'd get.

You didn't understand why she would do that. Why would she try to get away from you. You were Barbie. Everybody liked you. You were kind, understanding, sweet, pretty, literally everything someone would like. So why did she keep rejecting you?

Ken also had no answer to your questions. Days kept passing by, and she kept getting further and further away from you. Instead of trying to be with you and spend time with you, she spent time with someone else. With Allan.

You didn't even know who he was until he started hanging out with her. Then, you found out he was Ken's friend. The one who kept using his old clothes. And it made you wonder even more, just why she would hang out with him?

He followed her everywhere, and sticked to her like some pestering bug. You even tried to get her away from him by inventing some new kind of picnic ideas, but instead, she ignore you and hung out with him.

Just why was she pushing you away and keeping him close? What did he have that you didn't? Why him and not you?

She was made for you. She was created for you. Mattel gave her to you. So why him and not you?

That question circled through your brain on and on and on until one day, you decided to do something about it.

You knew Raquelle would never leave Allan, in fear of leaving him alone. So you decided to make him, less alone.

One call to Mattel was enough for them to accept your proposition for his remodelling, and it was done. At least that was what you thought.

Even after being remodelled and popular, he was still being an annoying pest. He kept flying around Raquelle like she was his main meal. Sucking off her sympathy while you were left begging her for a single glance toward you.

He kept taking all of her time even when he wasn't around. He kept running through her mind all day long, reminding you that he was there, always, everywhere.

You wanted to erase him completely. To be the only thing she thought about. To be the one she felt sympathy for. To have her attention to you.

Then that day when you brought her to her home-your home. You couldn't help but feel ecstatic.

She was looking at you, she was acknowledging you, she smiled at you, oh my god you just loved her so much.

You loved her so so much, you would do anything for her. Anything, if it meant staying with her forever.
