Grandpas Cough Medicine
When my brother was living in Bennington with my grandparents in 2009 or so he found a bottle of cough medicine that was prescribed by my grandfather but it was only as needed. You see I don't know the source, I doubt he smoked, he lived to be 86, but my grandfather had a persistent dry cough for as long as I had known him. He typically would "tough it out" and try to compensate with mints and candy, rarely needed the actual prescribed medication, the syrup.
During Christmas of 2009 my mother, sister, nephew, and father made the final Christmas trip we would take to Arkansas before my mother's death in 2011. So one day I was in the kitchen asking my grandmother for an Advil pm, I needed to take one every night to sleep beginning in the summer of my freshman year of high school. She got one for me from the bottle and said something about "you don't have a cough to?" I replied "no," Then she stated oh ok if you did there is this cough syrup to help that your brother loves. He was taking large doses of my ailing grandfather's medication to get high. That is what Bennington Arkansas can do to a person
