The newcomer seemed hurried.

Sitting on the steps, Qin Lu lifted his head upon hearing the sound, meeting the stranger's somewhat flustered gaze.

The person still holding the doorknob looked peculiar. With a cap and mask obscuring their features, only their eyes were visible. Their figure didn't resemble a male's, yet there was no staff badge hanging from their neck.

Qin Lu furrowed his brows slightly.

This person seemed like they sneaked in.

The training base wasn't entirely closed off since staff needed to come and go. The trainees were prohibited from contacting the outside world during recordings, which they adhered to.

There were security measures, but they weren't strict.

The newcomer seemed momentarily stunned to find someone in the stairwell. After a few seconds of hesitation, they stopped. As Qin Lu stood up, hurried footsteps echoed down the corridor. The person with the cap dashed towards Qin Lu, attempting to pass him and head downstairs.

Qin Lu sensed something amiss, but the situation unfolded too quickly. He instinctively reached out to stop the person, only to be pushed aside in their panic.

Standing near the railing, Qin Lu managed to grab hold of it, preventing himself from falling. He stumbled down a few steps due to the momentum before regaining his balance.

The partially open door slammed shut with a loud "bang." Another unexpected person rushed in from outside—Luci, in a white hoodie, his usual smile replaced by a blank expression. He paused upon seeing the familiar yet unfamiliar trainee, then glanced around the empty stairwell before lowering his gaze.

He didn't pursue further.

With the trainees and staff gone for lunch, and with the exit to the ground floor nearby, silence enveloped the stairwell after the footsteps faded.

Twenty minutes ago, Qin Lu, as a semi-amateur, stood among sixty-four trainees, chosen by the top-tier Luci as one of his temporary teammates for the week. They had never interacted before today. Their paths had been entirely unrelated until this sudden intersection.

Qin Lu gripped the railing, sitting a bit lower on the steps, while Luci quietly observed him. The radiant smile Luci had half an hour ago was gone, replaced by a slightly colder indifference.

Qin Lu glanced at the unfamiliar trainee beside him. Earlier, they had locked eyes for an extended moment, neither looking away.

Luci didn't intend to say anything. He waited quietly, expecting Qin Lu to ask about the recent events, but he didn't.

Qin Lu sat back on the stairs, rubbing his calf, as if he had strained a muscle.

Luci paused, noticing Qin Lu subconsciously holding his stomach while rubbing his leg.

He had never seen anyone remain so calm around him. Regardless of whether they were male or female, young or old, nobody had ever interacted with Luci so casually, as if he were an ordinary person.

This feeling was somewhat unfamiliar to Luci. He stared at Qin Lu for a moment before speaking. "Rubbing it won't help if it's a muscle strain. Not eating won't make your stomach ache go away either."

Qin Lu's movements halted. He turned to look at Luci, his eyes carrying a hint of surprise and a genuine desire to seek advice.

Meeting Qin Lu's gaze, Luci paused, then lowered his head, a smile slowly appearing on his lips.

"I'll show you," he said.

Luci had been dancing for many years and had experienced various injuries, including muscle strains. He had plenty of experience dealing with such situations.

With a tight schedule and irregular sleep patterns, Luci's eating habits were rushed. To maintain his appearance for the camera, he had often skipped meals, causing stomach issues. Now, with the help of a nutritionist, he had a variety of nutritious porridges prepared daily. He glanced at Qin Lu's hand on his stomach and sent a message to his assistant to bring the thermos to the practice room.

So, when the trainees returned to the practice room after lunch, excitedly anticipating their afternoon session, they found Luci and Qin Lu sitting together.

In front of them were several thermos flasks, with Qin Lu holding the familiar one that appeared in Luci's videos every day, quietly sipping porridge. Luci rested his head on his hand, chatting quietly with Qin Lu.

The trainees, who had prepared countless scripts in their minds, suddenly choked on their words.

They had imagined various scenarios: how to greet Luci, how he, as a senior, would respond, whether the top idol in the industry would have anything to say to them. Luci's popularity was overwhelming, and the distance between them seemed insurmountable. They didn't expect much patience from someone like Luci, known for his capricious nature until recently.

But now, Luci was offering Qin Lu his daily health porridge.

Wang Qing's eyes were full of admiration: ...Lu God, truly worthy of being Lu God!

Ziyi, a severe social anxiety sufferer, sat in the corner with a blank expression, beginning his vocal exercises without even glancing in their direction.

Wang Qing and the others thought Ziyi's calmness was another level of composure, unaware of the envy he felt.

It wasn't envy for Qin Lu's ability to make friends with Luci, but for Qin Lu's ability to make friends in general.

It seemed that anyone who had interacted with Qin Lu didn't dislike him.

How wonderful.

He thought indifferently, Could I also make friends someday?
