The Infinite9 video was something Carolyn stumbled upon while browsing YouTube.

She loved following idol groups, but in her own country, there were no stars following this model, so she had followed a few K-pop boy groups and was quite into them. However, the latest group she followed hadn't made a comeback in a year, so her enthusiasm had waned a bit.

She was initially looking for any new groups that had debuted recently. When she came across Infinite9, the nine handsome guys on the cover immediately caught her attention.

Upon clicking, she found a compilation of their stage performances, both singing and dancing, as well as close-up shots. It quickly got her excited.

She felt like she had found a hidden gem with this new group. How had she not heard of them before?

Although the language wasn't familiar Korean, Carolyn checked briefly and was surprised to find that they were a C-pop group. This was quite unexpected, as many people said that Chinese groups couldn't match up in talent. But they seemed pretty good.

Unable to resist, she watched several more videos, and before she knew it, she had spent two hours immersed in their content.

That familiar feeling of excitement returned!

Infinite9 had similarities to the Korean groups she had followed before, but there were also clear differences. Their features were sharper and more distinctive, their makeup lighter, and their interactions seemed less hierarchical and more casual.

She hadn't seen many Chinese groups promoted on YouTube, and the ones she had seen usually had Chinese and Korean members, managed by Korean companies, so they were classified as K-pop. Pure C-pop groups like Infinite9 existed, but she had clicked on a few before, and most of the comments were in Chinese. They mainly operated in China and hadn't done any formal promotions overseas, so she wasn't familiar with them.

Maybe it was because there hadn't been many recommendations from others that she had missed out.

Standing on the edge of becoming a fan, Carolyn searched for Infinite9 on various social media platforms, followed their official accounts, and found the personal accounts of the members.

With nine members in the group, simply watching their videos wasn't enough to get to know them all. Carolyn clicked on Qin Lu's Instagram account and happened to see a post he had made six minutes ago.

Qin Lu was the member she found most interesting after watching the official videos. He was the youngest member of the group and had both looks and personality that she found appealing.

His profile picture was a photo of him taken at the beach, and his bio labeled him as a singer and actor.

The new post seemed to be a selfie he had just taken. Given the time difference, it was already evening where he was. It seemed like he had taken it after getting ready for bed. His black hair looked soft and fresh, and the lighting wasn't great, but it was clear that it was an unedited photo taken with the original camera app.

Carolyn felt captivated.

The most beautiful and distinctive feature of his facial features was his eyes, a color that was rare for Asians. It felt like he was looking at her through the screen, and her heart started pounding with excitement, a feeling she hadn't experienced in a while.

Her newfound joy had arrived!

After following Qin Lu's account and all the other members, Carolyn realized that her instincts were spot on; Qin Lu had the highest number of followers among the group.

Then she went to watch Qin Lu's latest livestream.

Their first album was about to be released, and there was even a chance for the group to have a special overseas edition of their variety show!!

She wanted to contribute to their sales as soon as possible!

Overseas fans were increasing from all over the world through various means.

The members hadn't yet felt the sudden surge in attention online.

Meanwhile, Qin Lu was looking at his fellow group members, holding his script, as they rehearsed their scenes.

He hadn't expected Li Yanyu to come looking for him.

They hadn't exchanged more than a few words on set during the day, so when Qin Lu opened the door and saw Li Yanyu, he was momentarily taken aback.

Li Yanyu looked very different without his costume. Qin Lu couldn't immediately connect him to the person wearing the Taoist robe on set.

The makeup blurred the contours of his features, and the robe and long hair gave him the appearance of a traditional cultivator. Now, Li Yanyu in his casual state was clearly more inclined towards a bold, mixed-race look, enhanced by the light from the crystal lamp.

Li Yanyu had come to rehearse with Qin Lu; their first scene together was scheduled for the next day.

Qin Lu briefly went over tomorrow's scenes with him and placed a paper cup in front of him. "Why did you come to rehearse with me?"

Li Yanyu, looking a bit weary, ran his fingers through his hair and said bluntly, "When I talked about Teacher Liu, I was actually talking to myself. This is my first time acting in a period drama, but you, who lack experience, are doing much better than me."

The reason for Li Yanyu's visit was simple; he was very dedicated to acting, and the reason for that dedication was more than just liking it.

But there was no need to mention that to Qin Lu.

Qin Lu didn't ask further. He had briefly looked into Li Yanyu's acting history before. Li Yanyu had mostly played roles in modern business dramas, warlords of the Republic of China, or young decision-makers. There was little overlap with the character in their current drama.

During their rehearsal just now, Qin Lu could feel that Li Yanyu was talented; he just had some issues with details.

However...

As Qin Lu looked at Li Yanyu, he couldn't help but furrow his brows slightly, despite Li Yanyu just sitting there. His fingertips tapped on the sofa somewhat erratically, indicating some frustration.

He was reminded of a character he had played before. To make that character seem more authentic, he had specifically observed people in similar situations and had spent a long time studying and imitating.

Li Yanyu reminded him of that character he had played, and this speculation caused a slight change in Qin Lu's expression.

He didn't show it, lowering his gaze to conceal his emotions, and smiled, "Let's go through it again."

Li Yanyu nodded and began to get into character, reciting his lines.

There was a scene in the script where the two briefly sparred, testing each other's skills, so Qin Lu's actions didn't seem abrupt to Li Yanyu.

After grabbing Li Yanyu's arm, Qin Lu unconsciously brushed up the sleeve of Li Yanyu's shirt.

It was just a momentary gesture, and the sleeve quickly fell back down as Qin Lu released it. Li Yanyu didn't notice Qin Lu's brief moment of distraction.

Qin Lu didn't say anything. After Li Yanyu finished rehearsing and left, Qin Lu tried searching online with some keywords.

But there were no results.
