45. Wedding bells

As the soft glow of the bedside lamp illuminated the room, Samantha and Kai lay nestled together on their bed, their bodies still tingling from their intimate moment. With a contented sigh, Samantha turned to face Kai, her eyes shimmering with affection.

"If you hadn't been trapped in the prison world and everything had remained normal, what would you have chosen to do with your life?" she asked, her voice soft and curious.

Kai's lips curved into a playful grin as he pondered her question. "I was planning to be a doctor-a surgeon, actually-because, you know, I have a strange infatuation with blood and gore..." He chuckled, but Samantha couldn't help but playfully smack his arm.

"Okay, that was too dark for you," he admitted, still smiling. "But on a more serious note, I also wanted to have a family, away from my freaky coven for sure." He let out a heavy sigh as he remembered all those moments he spent with his family.

But before it could linger any longer, he looked at her and asked, "What about you? What do you want to do with your life?"

Samantha's eyes lit up with enthusiasm as she shared her dreams. "I want to be a professor and teach students in the future. I love sharing knowledge and skills. It will be fun!"

"A doctor and a professor, huh? Yeah, that does sound like fun," Kai remarked, his grin widening. Samantha chuckled at his idea and snuggled in his arms.

Their conversation faded into comfortable silence as they basked in the warmth of each other's presence. With a gentle embrace, they drifted off to sleep, their dreams filled with visions of a future filled with love and endless possibilities.

Two years later

The sun dipped low on the horizon, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink as we gathered for Bonnie and Enzo's wedding. It felt like only yesterday we were battling witches and vampires, but now, here we were, celebrating love and redemption.

I couldn't help but think back to the day Kai saved Enzo from Stefan's attack. He was under the siren's spell, bound to make decisions he'd regret later. It was a close call, but Kai acted swiftly, snapping Stefan's neck just in time. It showed how much he had changed, how far he had come from his darker days.

That did forge a new bond between two polar opposite witches we never thought we would ever witness them together, helping each other save Mystic falls from hell fire.

As I looked around at the smiling faces of our friends and family, I felt a surge of happiness knowing that Care and Stefan were finally human again. They had endured so much, almost losing each other and seeing them free from the burden of their supernatural past brought a sense of relief to us all.

Elena's forgiveness was another momentous occasion. Damon had pleaded tirelessly for her release, and eventually, Kai had relented, showing a remarkable growth in his character. But it doesn't hide the fact that he was very hesitant and angry at the idea of forgiveness at first.

And now, seeing Elena happily human and in love with Damon, I couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth and joy. Even though, it reminds me of some bitter memories of me with her. It was indeed, a long journey.

And at last, an unexpected announcement from our star couple. Enzo has decided to turn into a human after the wedding. It couldn't be more amazing day for me.

I looked around to see the wedding venue which was a breathtaking sight to behold, nestled amidst rolling hills and lush greenery. A gentle breeze danced through the air, carrying the sweet scent of wildflowers that adorned every corner of the outdoor space.
