The person who opened my door was my mother. I smiled brightly at her as I sat on my bed cross legged. I waved at her nonchalantly and she smiled at me. She sat at the edge of the bed while I waited for her to speak. I tried to act casually around her but I must've looked tense because she furrowed her eyebrows and touched my shoulder. I just kept smiling as held her hand. She studied me and I felt myself getting nervous like I always did when I feel myself getting caught like when I always snuck out to visit Jasper without Nate knowing. I was hiding my right arm behind my back.

"Sweetie, are you alright?," She asked softly. I chuckled and nodded softly.

"Yeah, I'm alright. Why do you ask?," I said as I played with my hair softly.

"I'm just asking, you know?," She said and I smiled. She wasn't a bad person, I'm just wondering how they got her to act as my mother. Did they just ask her and she went along with it? Did they brainwash her to think that I was her daughter? Did she ever had child before me that was gone from her home? She had so many questions that she knew that would never be answered.

"I'm fine, mom," I say softly. She smiled and touched my cheek. Her hand was warm and soft, also smelled like vanilla. I smiled at her and she suddenly placed her hand against her mouth in surprise.

"Oh, I forgot! Rachael is here to see you!," She got up from my bed and went to the hallway. She hollered to Rachael that she can come in and I heard footsteps coming up. My mother smiled at me and winked. "Have fun, girls!"

Rachael smiled at my mother and waved her at her. Rachael closed my door and placed her hands on her hips. I pressed my hands in the middle of my legs and smiled innocently at her. She glared at me and I became nervous as to why she was acting like that. But then I remembered how much I ignored her after I found out who I was. I gave her a nervous smile and tucked my hair behind my ear. Something I've always done around Nate and Jasper.

"Why haven't you called me!? I texted and called you! Why have you been avoiding me!?," She exclaimed. I gave her apologetic look and shrugged my shoulders. She was suddenly right in front of me, shaking my shoulders. "What's the matter? You can tell me anything!"

I took her hands off my shoulders and held them together. I smiled at her and chuckled. She waited for a reply while searching my face to see if I was okay. She was my very best friend. That's something I can't lie about. She was there for me when James tried to rape me. She talked about everything with me. About how her grandfather died and how she felt about it. I wanted to tell who I was but if I do then she'll get arrested or worse, she'll die because of me. I can't let that happen. Not to anyone.

"There's nothing wrong with me, Rach! I've just been busy with school, that's all! We can hang out today, if you want! Like go to the park or something!," I smiled at her. She crawled over to me and pressed her nose against mine. She peered at me, studying me to see if I was keeping something from her. Which technically I was but I couldn't tell her. She finally pulled away, crossed her arms, and had her nose up in a snobby way.

"Alright, fine!," She said and I cheered. I hopped off my bed to grab my black flats. I was wearing a nice pink shirt with my black leggings, having my hair in a nice small ponytail. Rachael was wearing a simple black dress with black boots with gold buckles. Mickey barked and I patted his head. He licked my wrist, the one that used to have my mark. I formed my lips into a line and grabbed a gold bracelet from my jewelry box and placed it on. I turned towards Rachael and smiled.

"Let's go!," I said cheerfully. I decided to leave Mickey behind even though that was hard for me to do. He whimpered a lot but I told him, I would bring him a lot of treats once I got back, which that seemed to satisfy him. Rachael and I walked out of my room and went downstairs, saw that my parents were watching some old movie and said that we were going to the park. We left my house and linked arms. "So what do you wanna do?"
