"H-How are you illegal!? This doesn't make any sense!" Rachael exclaimed. She let her hair loose from her ponytail and let her fingers raked through her hair. Her blue hair cascaded down her face as she looked at me. I placed my hand on her cheek to calm her, her eyes kept moving around from my face to my wrists.

"You remember that doctor, the one you kept seeing each time I went to the hospital?" I asked and she nodded her head. I told her to brace herself and her whole face was serious so I took a deep breath and looked into her eyes, and held her hands. "He's my brother"

Rachael stood absolutely rigid as she took in the information. She blinked once, twice, thrice, and then spoke.

"He's your brother? The doctor who treated you is your brother!?" she stood up from my bed and rubbed her forehead. She turned to look at me and crossed her arms. "Why didn't you tell me? Do your parents know!"

"Tell you that I'm illegal!? Are you crazy! What made you think I was going to tell you! Of course they don't know! Those are my fake parents!" I stood up also and we were face to face. Rachael had a worried look in her eyes and looked at the door, then back at me. "They can't hear us, we have thick walls." Rachael took a deep breath and bit her lower lip as she looked at me.

"Because I thought we were friends," she whispered. My eyes widened as I looked at Rachael who was looking down o the floor, her hair covering her face. I held onto her face and she looked at me with tears in her eyes.

"We are friends! But the reason why I couldn't tell you is because I was afraid of what the government will do to you! I've seen what they can do! I didn't want anything bad to happen to you!" I cried out. I was crying now and I covered my eyes. I felt Rachael pull me into a hug and I hugged her back. We stayed like that for awhile, feeling each other's embrace and warmth. I breathed in her scent just like I did before, back when I didn't know why I used to do it when I hug someone's scent. We pulled apart and we sat down on the bed.

"Who else knows about this?," she asked.

"My brother, Jasper, and . . . You," I said. Rachael nodded in understanding and smiled at me.

"So what do we do?," Rachael asked. My eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"What do you mean?" I asked gently. Rachael stood and paced around the room.

"I mean about the fact that you're illegal! Do we fight for you!? Do we tell our other friends about you!? What do we do! You have the right to be here!" Rachael exclaimed. I shook my head at her and grabbed her arm. She looked at me in confusion and I made her stand still so she can listen to me.

"No! We can't do any of that! We tried! We tried to make the government understand but they didn't listen! They didn't accept me for me being illegal! They just erased my memory and Nate's and Jasper's for us to be the same! To be under their control! We can't fight them! And our friends can't know!" I exclaimed. Rachael sighed and sat back down on the bed. She clenched the bed sheets in frustration and shut her eyes. Tears streamed down her face and she held onto my wrists. She pressed her forehead against my wrists.

"This isn't fair! This is so not fair! You can't live like this! You deserve to be who you truly are!" she whispered. I placed my hands on her cheeks and made her look at me. Her eyes were red and puffy, mucus dripping from her nose. I grabbed a tissue from my night table and gave it to her. She blew her nose and I giggled at the noise. She shoved me playfully and I sat down next to her. I wrapped my arm around her and squeezed her shoulder.

"I know it's not fair, I've been saying that my entire life. But there are times where you can't do anything about it and you just have to live with it," I say softly. She grabbed my hand and squeezed it. She dabbed her eyes and looked at me. She smiled and shoved me again.

"So. . . You and Jasper, huh?" she smirked. I blushed and twisted my hair with my finger. "How long have you two been a thing?"

"U-Um awhile, we did say I love you," I said. Rachael squealed and hugged me. I laughed at her reaction and hugged her back. It was as if we were back to normal with each other except this time Rachael knows who I really am.

"You guys said I love you! I can't believe it! I mean I actually can considering I noticed the way he looked at you! Like you were the only girl that was right for him!" Rachael gushed. She was blushing and this dreamy look on her face. I laughed and tucked a piece of hair behind my ear. Rachael gave me a genuine smile and place a hand on top of mine. "You have three amazing people that love you, Dr.Light, Jasper, and me"

We hugged each other really tight and smiled. Rachael withdrew from the hug and stood up, saying she had to go home before her parents freak out. She walked towards the window and opened but not before looking back at me and smiling.

"I'll see you tomorrow. . . Anastasia," Rachael climbed down the ladder and disappeared from my sight. I breathed a sigh of relief. I couldn't believe what just happened. She knew. Rachael now knows who I am. I felt nervous and delighted that I have a true best friend who accepts me for who I am. I smiled at the window and got up to close it. But as I was closing a window, I saw a black car speeding off right away. My eyes widened when I saw that strange car parked in front of my eyes.

I shook my head though. It was probably just a coincidence. Nothing for me to worry about at all. I hope.
