||Beta Jenna||

Queen's Office

I couldn't help but think of how today was going to unfold, the only thing that was calming me was the smell of the wet mud and pitter-patter of the rain droplets outside of Rose's palace office.

With a harsh tone, the Queen, my confidant demanded, "Would you stop worrying Jenna? We have this under our belt."

Forcing my eyes away from the window, I tilt my head towards her, offering a weak smile, "What if..."

Rolling her eyes, Rose starts to overturn and look for something, while reminding me, "That girl who happens to be birthed by you, has practically been my daughter too. Since she was born, I fought for her, and today I will continue to fight for her, Jens."

The weak smile that etched on my face seconds back transformed into a full massive grin, reassuring her that I believed every since word that came out of her mouth, "I've never once been apprehensive of that, the King and you, both almost always punished the boys, despite knowing it was Ren who was the mastermind of everything that went wrong. That one has always managed to escape from getting punished for her mistakes."

"They've grown up." Rose sighs, picking up and smiling adoringly at the picture frame that was on her oak desk, it held a picture of the six at Ren's first birthday party.

Unable to come to terms with that, I rebuked, "Still aren't adults in human terms, my Queen."

Keeping the frame back on her desk, she begins to open all her compartments, again looking for something, while schooling me, "Our world" she emphasised, as continuing, "isn't governed by Human Law, Beta. Those six are of marriageable age here. Hell! Most already are on their family way, out of the palace walls."

The thoughts makes me shuddered, that was my baby girl. Wasn't I just changing her dipper? Telling her how I'll always be there to protect her. Dejectedly, I agree, "I have no choice but to accept that, but weren't they not so adorable when they were kids? I'll just miss that. Those days."

Straightening up, with a sad smile Rose she nods, but starts to laugh, recalling, "Beta, remember the time we went camping when Ren was five?"

————————— ••Flashback••  ———————————

Day two of our camping trip at the dense forest trail of Topes de Collantes. The summer here was are warm, oppressive, and overcast.

The temperature was picking up, the King could see how the heat was draining the kids, shouts, "Come on guys, we're getting late, need to hike back to the campsite."

Rose scoffs, "Maybe he should've started yelling at us earlier."

"Heard that honey!" He scowls back at her.

Before I could look for the kids, Ren rushed over to where I was screaming on top of her lungs, for me repeatedly, "Mommy!"

Just as I was about to inquire what the matter was, I see the five boys trail behind her, while Ceaser had a Kitten in his hand, held by her scruff, Mason yanks her back to him, warning her, "No means no, Esme. Don't cry about it."
