"Excuse me?" I look up and see a man with broad shoulders, pale green eyes and wearing a grey suit standing by the door.

"I'm sorry, I didn't introduce myself. My name's Jason. Jason Ford." He shakes my hand.

"I'm sorry, do you have an appointment?" I couldn't help but ask him.

"Well it's nice to meet you, I'm-sorry-do-you-have-an-appointment." He chuckles showing his dimples.

"Oh I'm sorry. It's Elizabeth Green. Wait did you say Ford?"

"I believe I did."

"You're from Ford Estates, aren't you?"

"Yes, I own Ford Estates if that is what you want to know." He gives me a genuine smile.

"But you have an appointment..." I check my diary since the laptop stopped working, "...after two hours. You are early Mr Ford."

"Well I have something else to do on that hour and my assistant kind of mixed up with the appointment timing so I came here early." He explains.

"Well, is he busy right now?" He asked referring to Mr King.

"He's at a conference call right now but it should be over soon." I inform him.

"Okay. So shall I wait here?"

"Sure."

He sits on the chair in front of me, while I get up from my seat to get a charger for my laptop. Mr Ford stares at me.

"What?"

"You know you are really pretty, pretty lady."

Oh that endearment! He still hasn't replied yet but I'm sure he has read the text. Only he can call me 'pretty lady'.

My eyes diluted. "Don't call me that." I grumbled.

"What? Pretty lady? Why?"

"Personal issues."

"Okay." He says nonchalantly.

"So tell me something about you, pretty lady." Did he just not hear me? I guess it's useless to even repeat this again.

I sighed. "What do you wanna know?"

"Anything." Is he trying to flirt with me?

"How about I tell you nothing?" He should know that I'm not interested.

"How about over a cup of coffee later?"

"How about getting into my office Mr Ford?" Mr King's voice booms over my office.

Mr Ford turns around and casually leans on the chair. "Hey Eric, thought you were busy in some call, so I started flirting with your assistant."

Blunt much?

Mr King shakes his head in annoyance. "Just get into my office."

"Sorry pretty lady, duty calls. See you soon."

"I'm not a pretty lady." I muttered.

"You have a really nice assistant, Eric. Treat her well." Mr Ford says to Mr King.

"Don't tell me what to do!" He snaps, shooting deathly glares at him.

Too rude? Nope, that's absolutely normal for me.

"Miss Green, clear my schedule for rest of the day."

"Okay. Mr King." I say avoiding eye contact.

What? I'm still mad at him.

I think Mr King notices my discomfort. Well, I am seeing him for the first time after the dinner.

"Miss Green?"

"Yes, sir?" I reply him still avoiding eye contact.

"I–I–" Is he stammering again?

"I think I need to get out of here. I'm getting suffocated in this tense atmosphere." Mr Ford speaks out of the blue, eyeing both of us.

Mr King gives him another death glare and sighs.

"Let's have the meeting in my office, Jason." They both leave my office.

I slump down to my chair and sigh heavily. I better complete these files.

It's now five in evening and I'm packing up my stuff to leave. Mr King left almost two hours ago after his meeting with Mr Ford or Jason as he prefers to be called.

I still haven't had any reply from him and I think I have lost a friend.

Ping!

I absentmindedly check my phone and what I see makes my eyes pop out of their sockets.
