The oldest part of Ordsall Hall dates back to the 15th century which is built on the land of the original hall that was built by David de Hilton in 1251. Ordsall Hall remained in the Radclyffe family for over 300 years who then sold it in 1662. Since then the Hall had been used for many things including a radio station and a working men's club. It was brought in 1959 by Salford Council which opened it to the public as a period House and museum in 1972.

The most well known ghost that haunts Ordsall Hall is a white lady. She has been seen numerous of times in the hall and star chamber.

It is unknown who she is , although there is many theories to who she is including Margaret Radclyffe who died in 1599 , a jilted bride and Vinvianna Radclyffe.

Other paranormal activity that has been reported includes; sounds of footsteps , doors opening or closing and the smell of roses or lavender.
