For once in my life I felt at peace. I felt safe. I felt ok. I felt alive. I felt as if I was cared for. I was no longer unsafe. I could no longer be in pain. I loved this place. I loved how the darkness seemed to comfort me. Heal me and make me feel ok
Well in my life I've learnt so far that not all good things last. I saw the light and knew it was time for me to open my eyes and face reality.
My eyes pried themselves open and I had to suck in a sharp breath due to the blinding light.
Once I got used to the light I took in my surroundings. I noticed one major thing. I wasn't in the basement nor in Aaron's room
Where was I
A figure came through the door and settled next to me. I shut my eyes hoping they would go away but the slight chuckle made me know that they knew I wasn't asleep.
My eyes landed on prominent green ones
"Xavier?"
"No dear"he sighed
Thats when it me . It was Xavier's father.
This was the most awkward situatuon I've been in so far.
He slipped his fingers into mine and held it tighttly.
His eyes bored into mine as If he were trying to convey a message . This was wrong. The Queen already hates me for some unknown reason . Her husband being here with me would make things even worse
"How are you feeling"
"Fine?"
"I'm sorry for what my wife did"
"Its really ok. I'm used to it"
"What do you mean by 'used to it'"
"Lets just say I've had a tough life "I shrugged
"Wha...t"
Xavier stormed in the room looking all pissed off and growled
"Get out father!"
"No!"
"Mother requests of your presence dad"Xavier spat out but his father remained calm.
He gave me one last look before leaving me alone with his son
As soon as the door shut Xavier's arms went around me
I let out a pained groan because his arms were ontop of some of the wounds I obtained
He instantly pulled away but held my hand
"I'm sorry"
"Xavier not now please"
"Natalia no. Listen. I am very sorry. I'm sorry for nearly rejecting you. I'm sorry for taking you away from your home. I'm sorry for making you a servant despite the fact that you are meant to be Queen. I'm sorry for not waiting for you and having a wife. Natalia I am so sorry for not being the mate you deserve"
Speechless. I was speechless. Xavier apologised . Something was wrong.
"I'm really not strong enough to handle what you have planned next so please leave"
"I wont"
"Then what the fuck do you want from me!"
"I ......I ........ I dont know yet"
"Xavier"
"Another chance ok. I need another chance"
"Just let me go Xavier. Please. I am happy with Aaron now and you have a fiance and an entire race to worry about"
"You can call me selfish Natalia cause thats what I am. I wont let you go. Not now not ever."he spat as his grip tighted around my arm.
"You are hurting me"
"What can I do to make you love me Natalua. I can't stand you being with someone else . I can't bear to see you happy with someone who isn't me. It makes my blood boil whenever I see you in the arms of another man"

It took me everything I had not to take back my words.
I was with Aaron now and I am happy
Letting him back into my heart would be fatal and it will complicate things.
I dont want to be cruel but what I'm I supposed to do.
He's married. He is over five thousand years old and he has an entire race to govern whilst I am just me
