"Shrimp." It was always the most important item on the grocery list that would give you the hardest time. I hated not being able to find all the items because if I would have think of searching the whole store then I would just say f it and continue on to my next craving that I would have.
" Shrimp, Shrimp where are you ?" I silently speak to myself, tapping my finger nails against my chin. I found that to be my second to last cooping mechanism before I completely gave up this mission.
" Why is this so hard to find ?" This time I didn't care who'd heard me.
" Maybe because your over looking." I spin around quickly on my toes to face a tall, thin man who had the most clearest skin I'd ever seen. " My bad." He held his hands up in surrender. " I didn't mean to startle you like that. It's just I was standing a few feet away from you and heard you." He shyly chuckles.
I felt embarrassed.
" I'm sorry. I'm probably distributing the peace."
His laughs. His shoulder shake as the laughter continues, he holds up his hands silently calming down from the fit of enjoyment in my embarrassment.
" I hadn't intended to laugh." He inches closer towards me. His hands grab for the bag of shrimp that I had completely skipped over. " You don't have to feel embarrassed. It's fine to be annoyed having to search for a needed item knowing exactly where it might be in a grocery store." I nod. He extends his arm out, issuing the bag of shrimp to me.
I take ahold of it, turning around to check on Treasure seeing that she was fully awaken and sipping on her bottle of dilated apple juice with water.
" Cute kid." He gestures his head to Treasure. Treasure makes eye contact with him, taking the bottle from her mouth to give him a toothless smile. " Awe! She's such a cutie! Glad to see not all babies are mean muggers. It's scary to see them mean mugging in an ultrasound."
" You have kids ?"
He shakes his head no.
" God no." He lets out with a breath. " I mean it's not wrong with kids, I personally believe their a gift from god. They seem to come at the right time as well." I nod, messing with my hands knowing what he was saying was exactly true. " I have two nephews and a niece on the way."
My eyes bulged.
" Wow. You must be the most proudest uncle ever."
" Yes." His hand go to his hips. " They can be quite the handful but so worth it." He inclines his head to Treasure. " Best time of your life having a kid is when their that young."
" I guess I'm at the lucky stage."
" Definitely." His hand extends again. " I'm sorry we're just striking up a conversation and we haven't even properly introduced ourselves. I'm Aromi."
My hand gets placed into Aromi's warm hand. We shake hands for a bit.
" Chi."
" That's different." Aromi let's go of my hand.
" I get that all the time."
" You should. Most days were used to off the wall names, Londyn, Paris, Melanie, etc. all that."
" Yeah." I take a look at my daughter. " I wanted something different for my daughter, I guess when I was naming her I hadn't thought ' Treasure' would be an out the box name. It just fits her and our little situation."
