THE ILLOGICALITY of her situation had risen to another level. Elise thrashed on her bed trying to get everything together.

A whole day of rumination was still not enough to digest every single word that left her mom's lips. She did not want to believe it but experiencing being whisked to another world made her no option but to do so.

Groaning, she sat up before eventually deciding to do some experiments.

She prepared her notes and then pulled out various plants to prune. However, none of that ceased the repeating voice of her mom.

It was driving her out of her wits. She had accepted that magic existed. She even accepted that gods existed but now, her mom was saying they were descendants of gods.

What was more ludicrous was the fact that her mom actually had magic all this time! If seeing the future was not magic, then what else could it be?

This only proved she was now eons away from her dream of ordinary life.

With her being a muddlehead, the scissor slipped, grazing her left forefinger. She could not even grunt from pain when her finger quickly dripped with blood.

Elise hurried to look for gauze but there was nothing inside her medicine box. She climbed up from the chair and reached for another stock above the shelf.

She cleaned the wound and wrapped it in gauze. The white fine mesh was quickly soaked in crimson. As a result, she returned to her bed with a sigh.

"If only I can ask Aevum..." she murmured to herself.

'He is a god. He must know everything.'

Elise unconsciously gripped the pendant atop her chest. When the dried blood from her finger came in contact with the black feather, everything went white.

THE SCENE altered from her bedroom to the opposing black and white shades. The place was exactly how she remembered. She glanced at the golden orb remaining in its usual position.

"Welcome back, child," it spoke.

"Aevum!" She had never been so excited to hear that eerie tone. "I was just thinking about you. Can you tell me what happened after I left? Is Aricson alive?"

"He is."

The stones piling on her heart these days gradually rolled out.

"How come I'm here? Did you really hear my thoughts?" she questioned right after.

"You have an object from Elith and you left one of your belongings there. With that, you have become connected to both worlds."

"What do you mean?"

"An exchange was always needed in the rules of the world. When you decided to leave your watch and when the son of Spirit gave you his feather, a bond has been made. Now, I'll give you another chance, do you wish to return to Elith?"

Her heart had already shouted her answer but reluctance was still there. Elise knew she would only bring danger and she could not protect herself from that world. She did not want to be a burden but she knew Aricson would not mind. However, there was a high chance his family would be affected by her trouble.

If there was one thing Elise and Aricson had in common, it was their rational mind. Yet, their selfishness to stay together affected their ability to make a decision.

Both valued their family but the two also wanted to stay together.

"What will happen if I return?" she inquired nevertheless.
