Everyone made their way back inside the firehouse, tired from the fire they just left.
A three story apartment building fire caused by someone who left a candle burning.
Mouch was the first inside, it hit him as soon as he walked in.

"What is that glorious smell?!"

Everyone looked towards the kitchen where Sadie was placing baking dishes on the counter. She smiled

"Lasagna....I hope I made enough. Garlic bread too."

"So we got two Severide chefs!"

Herman said grabbing the first plate

"Oh? Kelly can cook?"

"No. Your sister. Katie."

"I have a sister too?!"

Kelly shook his head

"Thanks Herman"
Kelly laughed walking over to his sister, he was trying to go slow with the introductions as not to overwhelm her.

"You didnt have to cook Sades"

"I know, but yall were gone for a long time. I figured everyone would be hungry."

"You figured right"
He chuckled grabbing a plate for himself.

It was almost silent as everyone ate. After eating a plate herself she started to clean up.

"Hey dont worry about the dishes I can do them."

Ritter started grabbing plates and baking dishes, making a pile by the large sink.

"Oh it's ok I can do it"

Sadie started to protest, but Joe interrupted.

"Candidates do the dishes."

"Canidate? What's that?"

"They're the new guys, they do all the grunt work. Cleaning. Organizing. Sharpening."
Joe explained

"Sharpening?"

"The axes"

"Ah"

Sadie was in a firehouse for only a few hours, but she knew she had a lot to learn already.

....

A while later a large man in a white shirt walked in

"Oh hey Cheif, we saved you a plate."

Gallo placed an aluminum foil covered dish on the counter.

"Thank you"

"Yep, Sadie cooked dinner tonight"

"Sadie? Oh!"

In all the commotion he almost forgot.
He looked around the room making eye contact with his squad lieutenant, who was sitting next to his little sister.
Making his way over he sat his plate infront of the pair.

"Oh, and this is Chief Boden. Chief this is Sadie."

"Sadie, it's nice to meet you."

He held his hand out, her small one fit into his as they shook hands.

"You as well, um thankyou for letting me stay at the firehouse today."

"Its no problem at all, you're family now."

"That's what I'm learning. It's crazy to think about, but this morning I had no one. And now....I have a whole firehouse for a family."

"And that's just the beginning"

He chuckled
