"I'm going to go get the doctor"

Boden walked from the room as Sadie pushed away from Joe.

"Kelly?"

Coming up to the side of the bed he reached a hand out for her, a look of panic in his eyes

"You're ok, you're ok."

She kissed his hand as Dr Halstead came in the room

"Well look who decided to finally wake up! Can you hear me Kelly?"

He asked, shining his light into his eyes, his head nodded slightly.

More nurses came in that pushed Sadie away from the bed, she stood in the corner as they evaluated Kelly.

He was unhooked from the ventilator, now just a small oxygen line ran under his nose.

As the nurses finished up Kelly reached back out to Sadie.

"Hey you"

He whispered, his throat still sore from the tube.

"Hey big brother, welcome back."

She grabbed his hand and sat down in the chair that she pulled closer.

"How long was I out?"

"3...4 weeks? I honestly lost track."

"Damn"

"But you're here now....you scared me Kelly."

A tear slipped down her cheek that she quickly wiped away.

"I'm sorry, come here."

He scooted over making room for Sadie to lay with him.

Crawling in the bed she layed down, resting her head on his chest.

"I love you Sades."

"I love you too Kelly."

No more words were exchanged between the two. Sadie turned on the sports channel on the tv so Kelly could catch up on the Blackhawks.

After hearing the news of Kelly waking up all of Firehouse 51 made their way to the hospital.

Stella was the first one in the room

"Hey"

He whispered, she said nothing but a few tears escaped her eyes as she kissed him.

"I missed you Kelly...I love you"

"I love you too"

Sadie got out of the bed and grabbed the big plastic mug off the side table.

"Since they're here I'm going to go get you some ice chips, ok?"

She kissed him on the forehead before leaving the room.

"I think that's the first time I've seen her leave this room willingly"

Herman jokes

Kelly's brown creased in confusion

"What do you mean?"

"That chair right there"

Herman motioned towards the chair beside his bed.

"Has been her bed most of the time you were out. Me and Cindy tried to get her to go home with Kidd, or come stay with us and the kids...but she wasn't having it. The only time she left your side was for school or when Chief Boden made her go to the firehouse just to try to get her out of the room for a bit."

"I'm glad she had people looking out for her."

"Of course that's what family does."
