Chapter 16

Riya and Liang was by the Changi Airport. Riya was taking out her bags from the boot. She was happy that she did she ate breakfast before she arrived her. She hoped that two scrambled eggs and mayo sandwich with full her up for the journey. Liang watched her taking out her bags from the boot. Once she did that, Liang pressed the button for the boot door to close. Now he was looking at Riya. She was just hooking the bag handles around her shoulders. Then she held her handbag in her hands. Now she was looking at Liang. He was standing in front of her.

"Well, I hope you enjoy yourself in Los Angeles. Don't listen to that John fellow if he wants to make you and the team work day and night.", Liang was being encouraging. 

"Don't worry, John is probably going to use this trip as a vacation so he doesn't do any work. He doesn't work yet he earns more money than us. Plus, he is getting a bonus end of this year. That's so unfair.", she said. 

"It is. Just do your work but also have some fun."

"I will. By the way, what do you want for Christmas?"

Liang started thinking. "Nothing. I have everything in my life.", he answered. 

"While I'm in Los Angeles, I will be buying some presents. Do you need anything specific?"

"I don't need anything. The only things I need is your case to be solved, your business to be opened before New Years and eliminate the rest of the gangsters together. And we can be together forever.", he said in a loving manner. 

Riya showed him a beautiful smile after hearing that. She placed her bags on the ground. Liang knew what she was going to do. He grabbed her and pressed her body on to his body. His arms was around her back. His lips were pressed on her right shoulder. He was giving her a soft kiss on her shoulder. Riya could not tell whether it was a kiss but she left it. Her palms were on the middle of his back. Her eyes were closed because she was enjoying this moment before she would leave. Liang removed his lips from her shoulder and looked at her. His arms were still around her back. 

"Please be careful and keep yourself warm. Make sure you stick to the diet that the doctor gave you and take your tablets every morning after your breakfast.", he was talking like a mother.

"Yes mom.", she acknowledged. "You must tell me what's cutting in about my business and I will pay the last amount. Then my business is sorted."

"Yeah then you will be out of this miserable soon."

"You are right. If the business does well, Samantha, Ying and Zoe can work with me. Christina can also work with me. And if Justine messes with you, call me and I will tell her off.", she started laughing. 

"I will sort her out. You don't have to worry. You got John on your side, I got Justine on my side so we both even with those siblings.", he laughed and stroked her hair. 

Riya looked at him for a moment. They had small smiles on their faces. Riya wished Liang could come but he had to be here for the festive season. She, Liang and Samantha worked very well as a team with their tackling the last case in Shanghai. Riya's phone vibrated in her bag. She removed her hands from Liang's back. She took out her phone and looked at the message.

Hey, we almost at the airport like five minutes. Zoe and Ying's driver are driving behind so there's no need to worry. You can go and do the necessary arrangements.

Samantha sent the message. Riya would feel bad that she would be on time for the flight but the others would be doing the necessary arrangements. She rather wait so the team and her could go together. She messaged Samantha back.

I will wait for you including Mr Angry Eyes.  

Riya sent the message and put her phone away. Liang looked at her out of concern. "Everything okay."

Riya looked at him while putting her phone in her bag. "Yeah. Samantha just messaged me that she and the others are almost here.", she said, looking at him. 

"Okay. Let me not hold you up. As you said, you don't want a repetition of the last one. I wish I was there so I can tease you for that whole journey.", he laughed at him.  

She looked at him with an indifferent expression. "You will be the one getting kicked by your junk."

"Then I increase my bet for three years if you do kick on my junk."

"Aiyo (oh dear)", she said softly.

Liang placed his hand on her cheek. "Be careful and have fun.", he said with a smile. 

"Thank you. You will message as soon as I arrive in Los Angeles.", she placed her hand on his hand that was on her cheek.

"Don't forget so I will know that you are safe."

"As soon as I enter the airport in Los Angeles, I will message you."

He was happy with that. "Okay Moods, I will see you before Christmas."

"Yeah."

Both of them removed their hands from each other. Riya picked up her two bags and hooked them around her shoulders. Then she went on her toes and kissed Liang on his cheek. Liang smiled in a loving manner when he received the kiss. She removed her lips from his cheek then started walking towards the building. Liang turned around and watched her walking away from him. There was some sadness in his heart because he was going to miss her so much while she was in Los Angeles. Few people were walking with her. She saw an elderly man, trying to hold his big luggage. Riya stopped by him and picked one up to help him out. The man was grateful for her kindness. Liang smiled while he was watching her helping out the man. Riya stopped by the doors and turned to look at Liang. Liang looked at her with a smile when he caught her stare. Riya waved at him a few times. He also did the same to her. Then she went inside the building with the man. Liang opened his car door and hopped on to the driver seat. Before he could start the engine, he looked at Riya one more time. She was walking with the elderly man with his luggage. Liang smiled for a minute. Then he started the engine and drove away from the airport.
