Jack Johnson and Rebecca

I walked into school, and took in a breath of the fresh scent of pencils, books and 1000 different high school girls’ perfumes. It was refreshing. I had curled my hair today, and to me, it looked fantastic. My makeup looked better than most days and I was genuinely feeling on top of the world. The tan dress I wore hugged me in all the right places and my pale blue scarf fell perfectly down my chest. The heels of my boots clicked the tile floor as I scampered down the hallway in a feel good mood. My locker was decorated with pink balloons and there was a little radio on top of it.

My eyebrows furrowed as I tried to decipher what was going on. I looked closer at my locker door and found a little note. I squinted my eyes to read the small and messy print.

Rebecca-

Click play on the iHome on top of the locker. Then, look to your right.

Xoxo

I shrugged and glanced up to the iHome. I dropped my bag on the floor and stood on my tip toes to reach it. I clicked on the play button in the middle and did as the note said, turned to the right.

The hallway was empty, but soon enough, when the opening notes of A Night to Remember from High School Musical 3 began to play, four boys jumped into the hallway wearing black tuxedos. Jack Gilinsky, Taylor Caniff, and Nash Grier began to do the funniest dance I’d ever seen. As the girls in the song began to sing, my best friends, Gracie, Fatima, and Ashley came out and began to dance with the guys. It was hilarious. I found myself doubling over in laughter.

“Oh my gosh!” I laughed as the song came towards the end. As the last chorus ended and the outro finished, my boyfriend, the amazing, beautiful and talented Jack Johnson appeared from behind all the dancers, holding a dozen white roses (my favorite) and wearing a matching tuxedo to his friends walked towards me. His eyes met mine and didn’t leave until he came to a halt in front of me. He took my hands in his.

“Rebecca.”

“Amazing.”

“Beautiful.”

“Perfect.”

He repeated those words. They echoed in my mind.

“Will you go to homecoming with me?”

I smiled and stared into his eyes.

“Of course I will!” I squealed, kissing him happily.
