It's a period I relish
But I dread the day it'll end.
Looks to me that I must spend
As much time as possible to have a happy girl.
I just want you to know
That I've got high hopes
For you. I'd hate for you to feel low.
I wish for your mood to be a positive slope.
My only wish for you is to keep the light
Wrapped very tight
Around your body for resistance
Against the despicable darkness.
I dread the day our contact ends.
I just hope you hold onto all my words
And save them to lend
A hand for yourself and others if need be.
I don't want you to cry
When time rips us apart.
I want your heart
To be filled with joy.
The joy must spread to your mind,
Just for it to bind
To your soul,
So that it doesn't spoil.
