The Love Dilemma

You are the flashlight
I use when the town has a blackout,
But unfortunately,
You don't see me the same way.

I know I must let you go,
But that will make me want
You more, and the only way
To satisfy this urge is to be with you.

People say there's plenty
Of fish in the sea,
But I can't find any other
That's just like you.

People like you is rare,
And even if I find another,
It may not feel the same
Because I still want you.

As much as I want you,
I can't force you to love
Me because what we'll have
Won't be real.

You would rather be with another,
And I feel this crushing sensation
In my chest, which is difficult
To another, and its awakening
A competitive soul within me.

Letting you go sounds noble.
It looks great in the movies,
But life is no movie,
So I choose to compete.

It's either you choose
Me or this other person,
And whoever ends up with you,
I shall respect it.
