Lost in You

The paper's in front of me,
But my mind's not registering
Anything written on it.
In the background,
My teacher gives me directions,
But none of it is absorbed by my brain.

What's physically around me
Is a classroom setting
While my mind projects
Your beautiful body,
Enough to turn my attention away
From all of my responsibilities.

Just thinking about you
Causes my cheeks to turn red
Accompanied by the feeling
That's like fire scorching the area,
But at the same time,
It's dulling my senses to the point
I collapse on the desk.

I see a portal whose force
Is enough to pull me inside,
And at the end of it,
I see your face that smiles
As if it's welcoming me.

Right before I fall to the end,
I hear a bang,
Causing your face to vanish
Along with the portal.

By this point,
I hear a series of sounds
Whose message is unable
To be registered by my ears,
And before I know it,
I am back in the classroom
Where my teacher is glaring at me.

It turns out I dozed off,
But what I felt and saw
Was so intense that I wish
I could be drawn right back
Into the moment,
But unfortunately,
I'm going to have to face
The consequences for
My so-called wrongdoings.
