Melanie's POV

"So are we still on for tomorrow?" Brent asked out of nowhere.

"Shit. Is it okay if I hang out with Calum and Michael tomorrow?" I feel like a total bitch. Why would I make plans if Brent and I had plans?

"Oh..." He sounded upset.

"You can join us if you want," I said.

"No. They're your friends so I understand. I have to go," he said getting up. "I'll text you later."

"Okay," I said kissing his cheek. "Love you."

"Love you too," he said walking out.

I slid down the door and just sat on the ground. I'm a terrible girlfriend. I'm a terrible best friend. There has to be something I can do to fix this.

I called Brent, but he didn't answer. Now I'm the one getting the cold shoulder. Is this what it felt like when I did it to him?

I was about to go upstairs but there was a knock on the door. I opened it and Brent stood there.

"I'm sorry. There isn't an easy way to tell you this, but I guess I was jealous," he said.

"Of what? Of who?"

"Calum..."

"Why? He's just I friend," I said putting my hands on his shoulders.

"Because you cancelled on me to hang out with him," Brent said almost crying.

I kissed him and said "Why would I do that? I love you."

"I love you too," he said kissing me.
