I crossed the road and walked across into the dark alleyway. The last flickering light also gave in and it was pitch black now.
Suddenly from behind me I heard that low whistle sound again. I turned around and squinted my eyes to see a figure sitting down at the very end of the alleyway.

An old man with a long white beard. His turban covered his eyes and a set of tarot cards lied close to his dark form.....
At first I was confused, then memories came rushing back to me and I flinched causing him to smirk. I walked close to him and crouched down right infront of him. Staring him right in the eye. A thousand things were crossing my mind right now but the most important one was, how did he cross into this dimension?
"What, are you going to throw dust in my eyes again?" I snapped.
The man continued to stare at me aimlessly. It was then that I noticed he was wearing that same amulet that I gave him last time.
"How... did you get here?" I asked curiously. He only tugged on the shiny green amulet that was wrapped around his wrinkly neck. Maybe I shouldn't have given it to him... or should I have? I couldn't think straight but my questions never stopped.
"Why are you here" I muttered rather restlessly which now I think may have come off as a bit demanding.
The man looked at me without moving a muscle and then opened his mouth at last.
"ȶɦɛ ֆʊռ ɨֆ ռօȶ ֆʊքքօֆɛɖ ȶօ ʀɛʋօʟʋɛ ǟʀօʊռɖ ȶɦɛ ɛǟʀȶɦ."
I tilted my head, taken aback by his peculiar response. I decided to change my question and ask again.
"Are you the god? Is that why you know so much?"
The man stared at me for moments and erupted into a fit of laughter.
"ɢօɖ ɨֆ օռʟʏ օռɛ. ռօ օռɛ ɦǟֆ ɛʋɛʀ ֆɛɛռ ɢօɖ ɨռ ȶɦɛɨʀ ʟɨʄɛȶɨʍɛ.ɢօɖ ƈǟռ օռʟʏ ɮɛ-"
I cut the man off midway feeling impatient.
"But I've seen God! I've seen the light and -"
The man shook his head .
"But it's true.. The one who gave me a chance at life and brought me here, to this world was no other than God-"
The old man leaned back on the wall slowly, but steadily.
"ɖօ ʏօʊ ȶɦɨռӄ ȶɦɛ ʀɛǟʟ ɢօɖ ɦǟֆ ɛռօʊɢɦ ȶɨʍɛ ȶօ աǟֆȶɛ օռ ʏօʊ? "
I shifted in place and blinked a few times in irritation.
"Why else would he do all this?"
The man hummed out loud a very mystic but weird tune as he brought his head back to look at me.
"ȶɦɛ օռɛ ʏօʊ ʍɛȶ ʍʊֆȶ ɮɛ ǟ ɨӄɨɢǟʍɨ"
I was confused beyond words.
"A what?" I asked immediately now stiff.
He laughed .
He almost seemed like a maniac as he continued to cackle in the pitch black alley, his laughs echoing back to my ears.
"Can't you answer my questions?" I retorted, now visibly annoyed.
"There's already so much going on with the box and the key and that stupid eraser that i-"
"ȶɦɛ ʀɛǟքɛʀ ʍʊֆȶ ɦǟʋɛ ʍǟɖɛ ɨȶ ƈɦǟʟʟɛռɢɨռɢ ʄօʀ ʏօʊ"
I frowned at him , dissatisfaction in my gaze.
"Who?"
"ȶɦɛ ʀɛǟքɛʀ"
"What Reaper?" I questioned but he wouldn't give me any response. Defeated, I did what I always had to- I changed the question.
"Do you also know about the box?" I let out almost doubting my own self.
"ɖɨɖ ʏօʊ ռօȶ ǟʟʀɛǟɖʏ օքɛռ ɨȶ?"
He said a bit disappointed.
"I did but it ... it was worthless. The object that I got after completing all those tasks was useless and-"
"ɖɛǟȶɦ ɛʀǟֆɛʀ ɨֆ ռօȶ ʊֆɛʟɛֆֆ."
The man's voice in a hushed whisper and so deep that I swear I could've missed what he said. Fortunately I heard what he said, but didn't quite understand it. I stayed there ,lost in thought till the man let out a ragged breath.
"ɦɛ'ֆ ȶօʏɨռɢ աɨȶɦ ʏօʊ"
I brushed the dirt off my knees before sighing and taking one last look at the man. In his  hand he held out just two crinkly tarot cards.
One with a sun and one with a moon.
I turned around and began walking back onto the now alive street which led to my house. Should I believe such a man?
I couldn't help but think about all the things that were about to happen soon in my life.
I unlocked my house door and jumped onto my couch deep in thought.
My mind was diverted when my phone started ringing out of the blue.
It was L's number that displayed on my screen. I hesitantly picked up and waited for him to speak.
"Y/n?" His monotonous but this time soft , voice was heard through the device.
I hummed in response peering outside my window. He seemingly took a deep breath in and muttered again.
"W-what are you doing?"
"Nothing much." I replied truthfully.
"What about you, how did your day go?"
I already knew the answer to that question.
Today, as marked on my calendar Misa was taken into an underground compound, with her eyes covered by a metal plate, her body wrapped in isolation room material, and her body strapped to a vertical cot, all while Rem looked on.
Misa had been wanting for L to kill her, but refused to confess. Really, she was talking to Rem. Rem had forced Misa to forfeit her Death Note, which would cause her to lose all of her memories of the Death Note, Kira, and Shinigami, as well as eliminate her Shinigami Eyes.
Still, ofcoarse,  he lied.
"It was fine I guess..  nothing much happened "
I couldn't help but smirk for some reason, the power of knowing the truth gave me immense joy.
"I see... Why'd you call?" I asked now a bit curious.
"I wanted to tell you something"
He paused for a while, seeming nervous.
"U-urgently"
I was now not a bit,  but very curious. I stopped doing secondary activities and focused on the phone only.
"Okay.. go on" I said wanting him to spill the beans quickly.
"No... I have to tell you in person..." L replied even more nervous in his monotonous voice.
"Right now?" I asked a bit perplexed.
"Yeah" he said sounding a bit less tensed .
I let myself chuckle a bit before responding.
"Ryuzaki, it's 12 . Pretty late for us to meet now"
I swear if I could see his face hs would be standing infront of me with a dejected expression and sadness in those big eyes.
He had paused and hesitated before saying the next few words that came out sounding more innocent than I could comprehend them to be.
"B-but... I'm already outside your house.."
