Tin Can Phones and Panda Express

I let out a soft huff as I changed out of my costume.  I was moving much slower than usual, taking my time to peel off each garment one by one as I chugged a few bottles of water.  Of course, part of the reason I was moving so slow was because I had used my quirk quite a bit back there, and my body didn't seem particularly fond of rushing right about now.  The main reason I was doing this, though, was because right now was the perfect opportunity to test out another new little trick of mine.  I'd come up with the theory for it a few days ago, and for the most part it seemed to work, but I hadn't been able to check quite how effective it was with a larger group of people or how small of a space I could make use of it in.

"Ah, that was some tough training today, huh?" Sato's voice sounded in my ear.  I smirked slightly to myself at how clear the sound was.  This was even better than I'd thought it'd be.  As a matter of fact, I'd assumed the quality would be fuzzy at best.  Who knew my little tin can phone would be this effective.

"The first class in a while that had me glistening," Aoyama agreed, causing me to adjust the water molecules I'd collected ever so slightly, so that it caught even more of the sound coming from the changing room next door.  I had created two small cylinders connected together by a long string that drifted directly through the hole in the wall, each element of my makeshift phone made entirely from the humidity in the air and stretched so thin you wouldn't be able to notice it unless you were specifically looking.  In other words, it was an actual tin can phone made solely from the surrounding water.  And it actually worked.

"(L/N)-" The appearance of a new voice brought me back to reality.

"Call me (Y/N)," I responded immediately, lifting a brow slightly as I glanced over at the tall, ponytail-clad girl shuffling nervously in front of me.

"Oh, then if you could please refer to me as Momo," Yaoyorozu smiled slightly.

"What is it you want?" I sighed, going back to folding my costume and placing it in the suitcase as I continued to listen in on the conversation in the other room.  I didn't feel like playing these games right now.  Little miss vice rep was gonna have to ask me for whatever it was herself, rather than dancing around the topic with polite small talk like she usually seemed to enjoy doing whenever she was the least bit uncomfortable.

"Right."  The girl's smile fell in a second, and I quickly had to start reminding myself that this was more than a fair response after everything that had happened.  "I was just hoping to congratulate you on your record.  You were quite impressive.  As a vice representative, it is an honor to have you in my class."  Her voice sounded almost hopeful, which made it all the more frustrating.  What, had their strategy changed or something?  Were they trying to befriend me now so they could gain more evidence?

"Hey, Midoriya!  You won't believe what I just found.  The jackpot!" I stiffened slightly as Mineta's voice was finally caught by my tin can phone.

"Excuse me a moment," I muttered before making my way over to the tiny hole on the side of the dressing room.  I could see Yaoyorozu deflating a bit out of the corner of my eye but ignored it.  I mean, it's not like I was ditching her or anything.  I hadn't even put on my shirt yet.  What did she think I was going to do, walk around the school half naked just so I could avoid her?  No matter how appealing the sound of escaping this pointless conversation might be, I would never have the confidence to pull something like that off.

The girls of the dressing room parted like the Red Sea as I made my way forward.  I didn't really mind, though.  That just made it all the easier to reach my destination in time.  I almost gagged as I heard Mineta's disgusting rant about exactly which body parts he was planning on looking at for each girl, arriving just in time as he reached the end of it.
