I joined the rest of the class in the monitor room, where the scene I was so familiar with played out in front of me. I ignored my classmates' comments and instead focused on trying to figure out my quirk. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, focusing hard and trying to feel whatever it is I could control. I frowned. Whatever it was, it felt like it was everywhere. I could distinctly feel the shapes of each of my classmates and my teacher standing around me as well as fragments of it throughout the air. I shook my head. This wasn't going to work. Instead I decided to try out a new topic. I opened my eyes and held out my hand, focusing instead on gathering whatever it was in front of me. My eyes widened when I saw a ball of water form above my hand, and I grinned widely. I had chosen the right battle to take part in.

Before I knew it, my battle had arrived. As soon as the villains and heroes had both left, I went outside and waited for my signal from All Might.

"Young (Y/N), you may enter," All Might's voice sounded in my ear. I nodded and entered the building through the front doors. I closed my eyes and pulled the same trick I did in the monitor room earlier, using the water particles in the air to create a slightly fuzzy map of the building in my mind. I quickly found the weapon and smiled, making my way towards it, all the while keeping that mental image of all of the water in the building so that Hagakure wouldn't be able to sneak up on me.

When I reached the floor that the weapon was on, I heard Hagakure and Ojiro talking about taking their shoes off. I entered the room silently, making my way slowly to the weapon. Suddenly, the entire room was filled with ice. My eyes widened and I jumped up, avoiding the wave of ice that took over the room. I let out a slight huff in surprise. I had known it was coming and still almost wasn't able to dodge it. Quickly, I dashed towards the fake weapon, skidding to a stop only when a large ice formation blocked my way.

"You got here quicker than I thought," I commented, turning to face the dual-color haired boy.

"You were able to dodge my first attack," Todoroki commented. "I wasn't expecting that."

I smirked slightly. "You underestimate me."

"It won't happen again." Todoroki shot a wave of ice my way, and my smirk widened as I simply stood still, watching in amusement as the ice broke apart into millions of little pieces at my command. Ice was still just water, after all. As long as he didn't use his left side, he would never be able to beat me.

Todoroki stared at me in shock as I stood, unfazed by his attack.  I tore apart his makeshift barrier and started sprinting for the weapon again.  Todoroki sent another wave of ice my way, and I tore it apart again, hardly even breaking my stride.  He seemed to realize that he would need to do something else and started rushing towards me, cutting me off a few feet before the weapon.  I skidded to a stop again, staring back in defiance.

Todoroki wasted no time in throwing a punch my way.  I gasped and ducked, just barely avoiding his fist.  He quickly brought his leg up, kicking me in the stomach.  I coughed, skidding backwards on the smooth surface of the ice.  I frowned and threw some of his own ice at him.  He threw his arms up in surprise, trying to block the barrage of ice.  I dashed forward again, trying to slip past the overpowered boy.  Todoroki recovered too quickly, though, and he sent another punch flying towards my face.  I gasped and squeezed my eyes shut, holding both hands out in a last ditch attempt to stop him.

After a few seconds nothing happened, and I frowned, peeking an eye open.  There Todoroki stood, his eyes blown wide as he stared at me frozen in place with his fist only inches away from hitting my cheek.  I blinked in surprise myself, a bit unsure of what I'd done.  I reached a hand out, trying to decipher what was happening and nearly choked on my own spit when I realized what I had done and was continuing to do.  I had frozen each and every particle of water in his body.  So while he wasn't technically frozen, he still would never be able to move while I was holding him like this.  I quickly let go of my hold on the water in his blood, and sighed in relief when his heart started pumping again.  I waited nervously for a second, but it seemed as though the hold on the rest of the water in his body was enough to hold him still.

I carefully wrapped the capture tape around him.  Then, I ducked under his arm, watching him cautiously as I made my way to the weapon.  I laid a hand on the weapon and let go of Todoroki and All Might shouted through the speakers that I had won.  He stared at me in shock.  My frown deepened when I saw the small tint of fear hidden in his eyes.  I ducked my head and made my way to the exit, staring at me feet.  A hand wrapped around my upper arm, and I whipped my head around to meet the heterochromatic eyes of my classmate.

"What the hell was that?" he growled.  "What did you just do to me?"  I backed up a bit, Todoroki standing just a few inches too close for comfort.

"I, um," I stuttered.  "I guess I just... stopped all the water in your body?"  I answered hesitantly, still questioning the exact logic of what happened myself.

Todoroki let go of my arm, still staring at me uncomfortably.  Wordlessly, he turned around and walked back to a nearby wall, placing his left hand on it and melting the ice that still covered the building.  I took a shaky breath and turned back away, making my way out of the building and returning to the monitor room.  My heart lodged in my throat at the many fearful stares that awaited me.

"Well, the VIP of this round was young (Y/N)!" All Might announced.  The rest of the room stayed uncomfortably silent as the students continued to stare at me.  "Er, her use of her quirk was contained and made sure to cause zero damage to the weapon.  She even was able to wrap the only hero that was a current threat to her in capture tape to ensure her escape!  Good job, young (Y/N)!"  He flashed a thumbs up my way.

I just barely smiled at the praise out of politeness and quickly moved to the corner of the room, trying to escape the unwanted attention.  Still, the feeling of being watched never left me as the other matches continued on.
