The Dark One is Back.

The land was bathed in the silver light of the moon and illuminated by the gemstone lights of the stars. That land was about to be defiled by a warrior who had ill intensions on his mind. The Dark One who invaded the grand Rothom Archives was that warrior.

His identity was still concealed by the silver hood, ensuring no one would uncover who he really was.

The land he was visiting was nothing like the land the Archives laid dormant in. No, this land was gorgeous and the fresh scent of liliedawns flower and life was in the air.

It was not like the cold and depressing land the Archives called home. This land was completed in hills with sharp dark green grass and a stunning blue lake.

He stood at the foot of the lake which led into a river where flame flies fled too.

In the middle of the lake, there was a small island with a wooden shrine. The shrine had a pyramid roof and along the roof hanged eel shaped, red lanterns which were dancing from side to side.

Their vivid lights changed colours from red to yellow every five minutes, ensuring the island was illuminated by radiant colours.

He needed to get to that island. The shrine held something very necessary for his master's ultimate goal. But he could not materialize or swim there.

He was educated about hallowed lands and the sacred protection they bared with birth but that would all change. It would soon resemble the land of the Archives.

With the aid of the ruby chain and the cloverleaf stud ring, he summoned a sand-coloured scroll. These sacred objects belonged to another.

The one whom helped him invade the Archives. The one who pretended to be of Light but desired the return of the Age of Dominance. The traitor was his instructor. He would only return the items when he had no use for their talented powers.

"Guardium De Ascendium," he read.

He stood back from the lake. In no time, the tile of water in front of him started to bubble and inject into the air like geysers.

The water ceased, revealing a mermaid, hovering a few feet off the liquid giver of life, but not for him but others born from the touch of the Supreme Light and the Supreme Dark. He was crafted from greatness, not birthed.

The mermaid was completely naked. She had long crimson hair with green thorns which covered her bosoms.

Her eyes were sapphire in colour and her lips were red like ruby. From her waist down was her beautiful green tail with emerald scales and light blue fins.

"Are you Amphitryty (Amp-fit-try-tee), daughter of Nylus (Ny-lus) Lake?"

She replied in a soft yet calming voice, "Yes, I am and everyone who disturbs my slumber must suffer my fury."

Amphitryty shrieked in a high-pitched voice, "Leave at once or I will ensure you sleep forever in the Pit of Darkness."

Her hair began to flutter wildly in the wind and she gawked at him with hatred.

He smiled maniacally at her but she was unaware of it. She would soon understand why she had to do exactly as he said.

"I have no intentions of leaving or being impaired by the likes of you," he replied. "Instead, you are going to do me a very generous favour. You will summon the bridge to the island."

Amphitryty laughed. "Why do you not do like your predecessors and swim, fly, or materialize there?"

"You are a clever one Nyluside (Ny-lus-ide), but I am no fool like my predecessors before. I am well aware of the fact that if I attempt any sort of short cuts, I will age until I crumble to dust."

"I know everything about this island and about you and your sisters. All your secrets are locked away in my mind."

She laughed again before replying. "You are of pure Dark. I will never summon the bridge for such a vile warrior like yourself," and then she pointed rudely to him.

"If you do know everything about this island and myself," and she placed her palm to her chest, "As you claim, then you would know that it is futile to ask again or to attempt passage."

She was about to teach him a lesson, he could see it. She was swimming in circles and the dazzling water around her commenced rising into the air. She was forming a cyclone.

"Your actions are not new to me anymore and so I am prepared for them," he said in his mysterious voice.

He lofted out another sand-coloured scroll and quickly read from it, "Des Imoblium Amphitryty," and then he read from the one he pilfered from the Archives. "Manipulatos Mindium Amphitryty."

When he finished, she froze in mid air and so did the partly formed cyclone of crystal, astounding water. A portrait painter's dream was before him. He had created art which needed to be emblazed on a urn for all to see.

She started to cry out in pain. The incantation he had used on her was battering her with invisible chains. Yes, this truly was his favourite. He could see the cuts and scrapes from her once unblemished skin, oozing out icar.

"You are under my control. What I say will be unbreakable law. If you want to live to see the next moon, you had better raise that bridge, now."

Amphitryty agreed with displeasure and he revelled in it. She wanted to be freed from the throbbing pain. Her mind was free from him but her body was under his control, now a puppet and his property to demand whatever he wanted.

She unwillingly clasped her hands shut and submersed herself back into the water like an elevator but with sorrow on her face.

The water started to ripple faster but this time it was from his feet to the small island.

"Excellent! Soon this will all be over and I will be one step closer to what I want, to what I desire," said the Dark One with a separate purpose.
