There was panic all over the Hall. Most looked over their shoulder. Was that creak, that squeak, that shadow General Chrome or worse, the Messiah of Darkness?

Had he returned to power and picked out his first target on the archery board, that being them? Only he knew.

The Elders of the Houses were left to manage the crises as the Leaders of the Light convened at once in the Council Chamber.

If they had not seen it before or believed their older brother, the Hyods saw it now. The cloth, which caressed their eyes and blinding them to the truth was now piercing them in the pupil to inflict pain like a paper cut to a finger tip. It was a stinging hot feeling.

The room was dark except for the crystal chandelier and the eight Hyod depictions.

"How could this have happened? How could Chrome have entered onto one of the most guarded places and with us here?" screamed Heliocana. Her voice said this should have been impossible yet it had happened.

The lime light fell on her, accentuating her puffy cheeks and flaming scarlet scarf. The Fire Hyod appeared concerned yet furious.

"Is it not obvious, the Safeguard Scroll of course," replied Hyperiown.

The lime light landed on him, illuminating his red face and golden locks as he stared at his sister.

"So, it is true. The Messiah of Darkness is rising and Valliantious was correct. He has pulled the void over our eyes," said Ponthious, stroking his chin, seemingly analyzing everything said in the present and the past, the lime light displaying his deep concentration.

"Then we have to act now. We have to have this place guarded by Othyrus Castle warriors," imposed Hallious with rage in his eyes which was accentuated by the lime light, know doubt Onyx and Irown's attack fresh on his mind.

"Why?" questioned Heliocana to her brother as if his words were unheard of. "Our warriors are strong enough to stand on their own. We do not need to take away from them this honour to guard."

"No Heliocana," replied Hallious, the light upon him to demonstrate his change of mind, his reconsideration of things.

"Blackthorn was correct earlier. I have thought it over and not all of our Apprentices are ready, especially the new ones. They need to be protected until they are able to stand on their own."

Valliantious sat there in his golden thrown; arm rested and observed the squabbling between his siblings. They were truly children in a playground arguing about who's toys were better. He interjected before the heat rose.

"Enough!" he bellowed and the lime light turned white and illuminated his silver hair and white eyes.

"The Dark is near and at hand and it is clouding each and every one of your judgments," and he pointed to all of them, one by one.

Blackthorn could see the furiousness Valliantious invoked with his words and he could sense the tension in the air rapidly rise, but none of them interrupted.

Valliantious seemed to always be correct and always arrived with a solution in hand, a solution desperately needed.

He sat and observed everything. He had failed to prevent the break-in into the Archives and now he failed to detect a Dark Warrior on his own sacred ground. What could he suggest to prevent such from happening again that was not already being presented and rejected?

"Omegon wants us to divide as he conquers and feeds off of our insecurities and backbiting, but we will not give him the satisfaction," exclaimed Valliantious.
