Chapter 38-The return

Hayley's POV
I stared at him as I considered his words while he looked at me with pure guilt in his eyes, guilt of what?

He backed down immediately and cleared his throat
"I didn't mean to" he spoke and left leaving me stunned

I gave myself a minute to calm myself down and after pulling myself together I headed towards the car

Christian's POV
Everyone was finally seated in the cars. In the bullet proof car were Lucas, Caleb and me.

In kai's car were Hayley and kai. Leo was with George and I asked kai to come a minute after I signal him to.

Kai told me that Hayley confronted him about our plan and I honestly felt nervous on what I will tell her.

I know it was kai's plan but I agreed to it because I wanted to keep her safe. For now I pushed all my thoughts aside to be focused on our plans for tonight and started the engine

Kai's POV
We drove in silence behind Christian's car and I stole small glances at Hayley but none of us made conversation.

I don't know what was I thinking when I blabbered all that but for a second thought, I don't feel bad about it. I think the timing was wrong but my feelings were right.

Hayley's POV
As the abandoned building came into view, I became anxious. This was going to be the first time I witness something like this with a whole lot of risk.

The building looked scary in the night lights and I started feeling nervous. My stomach was tying itself in knots and I was constantly trying to distract my mind to keep myself calm

"We're here" kai spoke for the first time since we sat in the car. Christian's car was parked in front of us but no one came out. we had calls connected and stayed hidden waiting for dad's signal

"You can move" dad's voice came through the phone and I saw Christian getting out of the car with a gun in his hand. We were on the back side of the building and I couldn't see anyone guarding it.

Seeing Christian with a gun made me think of the first time we ever saw each other and that same unfamiliar feeling surrounded me. I suddenly felt cold and my throat went dry. I looked at kai and he looked back at me

"Let's go?"

I nodded my head and we slowly got out of the car, kai held my hand tightly and I did the same. He made us walked through some dark path which was completely silent. I was starting to feel calmer when I saw the building lights

We walked slowly and entered inside the building into a long empty hallway

Christian's POV
I know who this person is now. I know everything. I wasn't sure until I saw the building but now I am.
I held Hayley's hand as kai left to search another room. I gripped my hand tightly around her feeling anxious and she did the same.

I signaled my men to ascend the stairs but just as they reached the top, several guns were pointed right at them and they were outnumbered. I squeezed my eyes shut but opened them again to see the same thing. We were outnumbered.

Hayley's POV
We were outnumbered. That was the only thing I could see. One man approached me and tried to separate me from Christian but Christian aimed right at his head

"Touch her one more time, this bullet will be right through you"

The man gave Christian a look before he released my arm and Christian stepped closer to me.

All the other men came in with guns and now there were two sides.

All of the other men created space for someone to walk through and between them came Enzo

"ENZO" my eyes widened and I took a step towards him but Christian held me back.

Enzo's hands were tied behind his back, his face looked swollen and his mouth was taped shut. I felt horrible for him and suddenly, everything clicked into place
