Hayley's POV
Unsure of what I saw, I squeezed my eyes shut. Opened them again and saw everything in slow motion.
Before I could get hold of what was happening, the sound of the gun and screaming, I had my eyes locked on one man. Christian
Just before the bullet left the gun one last time, he smiled at me and then in slow motion the bullet hit Christian near his heart.
He fell to the ground completely not moving. My world stopped. I got on my knees unable to control my tears and screamed
Everyone panicked and started running here and there but me, I stayed still. I crawled to his body and with my shivering hands, I touched his face
Then it was silent, all trace of laughter, happiness and love, disappeared and along with it, went the love of my life
His eyes were closed and it looked like he was in a peaceful sleep. I tried to clean up the blood but it only became bloodier
So much blood was pouring from his body, he was really dead. I was in denial; I ignored everything and laid my head on his chest. His heartbeat was faint and to a point which looked like it almost stopped.
I had no intention of getting up
He left me
"I love you Christian" those words left my lips and I prayed that he heard them.
"HAYLEY" Caleb ran to me and tried to pull me away from him but I insisted
"WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU HAYLEY, WE HAVE TO LEAVE"
"HAVE YOU LOST YOUR FUC*ING MIND, HE IS DEAD. MY LIFE HAS NO PURPOSE NOW"
"Hayley if Katherine finds out you are alive, she will kill you"
"Then let her, I don't want to live without Christian"
I sat on my knees to look at Christian who was still laying. I held his hand and cried.
"Wake up" I whispered.
"Christian wouldn't want this Hayley"
His words struck to my heart, I realized he was right. Christian wouldn't want that.
"But Christian?"
"I will take care of him I want you to leave"
"But Katherine wouldn't leave me alive"
"Then make her believe that you are dead as well"
I looked at him in disbelief
"What?"
"Hayley we have to do this. Do it for you"
