"Paige!" I heard Ate Mela called me.

Ngumiti ako sa kanya at kumaway bago ko pinasadahan ang paligid. Everything was in order. Malinis ang paligid at wala rin akong naaamoy na mabaho.

They really took good care of this place. Masaya ako habang inisa-isang tignan ang mga aso na nandito. It was actually chaotic because they were all barking. 

I was still in my school uniform but that did not stop me from carrying some of the dogs. Kilala na ako ng karamihan sa kanila kasi palagi naman akong bumibisita rito. I developed a strong bond with the dogs here.

Lumapit ako sa kabilang kulungan para makita yung bagong dating na aso. They rescued her from an abusive owner. Hindi ko lang talaga kayang tignan ang kalagayan niya dahil nararamdaman ko yung sakit.

I'd flinch at the thought na siya yung nakakatanggap ng karahasan ng amo niya sa tuwing nalalasing ito. I never really thought that people could be as harsh as him. I'd just hope karma would get to him real soon.

"Saan na po yung mga open for adoption, Ate?" I asked.

"Nandito, Paige. Sundan mo ako. Nilipat kasi namin kasi hindi sila magkasundo sa ibang aso," she said.

Binuksan niya yung pinto at kita ko kaagad na masaya ang mga aso na makita ako.

"Asan si Macky, Ate?" I asked. I was pertaining to the black pug that experienced abandonment from his past owner.

The previous owner decided to migrate to US and chose to leave him sa dati nilang bahay. Macky was left all alone. Nakatali pa kaya malamang hindi makahanap ng pagkain. Their neighbor reported the case that's why the organization immediately took action at kinuha si Macky doon.

Macky first came here last summer. During that time, I was here volunteering kasi wala naman akong magawa sa bahay. Macky was so thin. He could've died if not reported early pero buti nalang at nakarecover naman. The organization also have volunteer veterenarians naman pero syempre kailangan rin nila ng kikitain especially para sa gamot at pagkain.

Macky was so traumatized at hindi siya lumalapit sa mga tao. It took me weeks just to get a hold of him. Mabuti naman ngayon at hindi na siya naiilang sa akin.

Tinuro ni Ate Mela si Macky na tumatakbo papunta sa akin ngayon. He looked so happy and healtht compared to his last state.

I'm here for picure taking. Ipo-post kasi yung pictures ng mga aso na for adoption at isa si Macky do'n. I fixed my hair first before smiling at the camera while carring Macky on my arms. His tongue was stick out as we took the photo kaya I was looking at him while laughing all the time at gano'n rin ang nakunan sa picture.

Ang kasunod naman ay ang solo picture ni Macky. The other volunteers will edit that later and will put an 'adopt me' word with arrow pointing Macky. Nando'n yung mga gano'n na pictures ng mga aso sa Facebook Page nila.

Gano'n ang mga ginawa ko sa ibang aso. I will carry or play with them while Ate Mela is taking a photo.

"Thank you, Paige! I will always admire you for your kindness. Thank you for your care for the stray dogs. Bilang nalang talaga ang mga katulad mo," Ate Mela said. I was flustered and I don't know what to answer her kaya ngumiti lang ako sa kanya.

"Ate," I whispered as I handed her the cheque Lola asked me to give.

Grabe ang pasasalamat ni Ate Mela. Sabi niya pa na talagang sa org mapupunta ang perang iyon. Kahit pa hindi niya sabihin, alam  ko namang gano'n talaga ang gagawin niya.

When I got home, I immediately checked my Facebook Account. Wala akong pictures ko sa sarili kong account. Ang mga mukha ko ay makikita lang sa Facebook Page ng organization.
