It was a pleasant and enjoyable night for the people in Dumotierite Palace as they celebrate Adrastos comimg back.

"Your highness has truly grown up" the oldest maid said tearing up a bit making Adrastos chuckles as he wipes her tears

"Nanny Lynn i am still a teen, we have only been a part for three and a half year." Adrastos said

"It feels so long to me your highness, even before you were born i was here and i basically watch you grow same as the other maids and knights here. We're so proud of you" She exclaimed while ruffling Adrastos which made him chuckle a bit.

"Wait is that you Zagreus?! I hadn't had a good look at you earlier but now that I'm looking closely at you, you look like him!" Xifeng shouted at the now sweat dropping Khaos making Adrastis perks up

"Nanny you know him?"

"Zagreus fahter is a trusted and a loyal companion of your grandfather, your highness" Xifeng said before hugging Khaos

"Lady Xifeng stop I'm not a child no more!"

"What are you even doing here Zagreus and what is this i heard about you working as a mercenary?!"

"Uhm how do i explain it briefly. After Adrastos grandfather finding out he was sent to a war by his father, Sir Xianhua planned everything to make his grandson safe secretly, so he ordered me to act like a mercenary to let you or the enemy hire me and help you" He explained gulping as he state at the looking down Adrastos

"Khaos follow me"

"Your highness forgive this insolent for being dishonest!" Khaos immediately apologized

"Stop, I understand all i want is to ask something. If my mother's family cared for me why didn't they visit nor help me get away from here?"

"Your highness.... Didn't your father said nor let you see the letters they send everytime?" Khaos said nervously clenching his fist

"I do not know of this letter you are talking about"

"Your grandparents have been sending lots of letter tp you before but after not recieving a response from you they stopped thinking you don't want to have any connection between them" He explained to the now frozen Adrastos

"Did they?" Adrastos asked while clenching his fist

'So father has been blocking and cutting any connection my grandparents with me'

"If you want a proof then this is a letter your grandfather want me to send you if ever you find out about this, it seems like he have been expecting this to happen" He spoke giving Adrastos the folded paper, he was met by a neatly cursive letters

Dear Grandson,

I do not know if you want to read this but i have been looking for a chance to communicate and even ask if you could spend at our manor for a while. Ever since we have known that our beloved daughter died and left a precious child we have been dreaming of meeting you. Your father's decision about letting you go on a war is cruel so i hope Zagreus is doing his job well to protect and help you. I hope to meet you and bond with you in person son. Your grandmother and uncle really wants to meet you too

After reading the letter Adrastos folded back the letter and faced Khaos.

"I want you to give them a message that i will visit them soon enough, if much possible tell this to them face to face that when i visit them i will probably be there for month or so"

"As you wishes, your highness. Then i shall be at my way after all its a long way" Kahos said but before he could go Adrastos stopped him

"Sleep for now, there is still tomorrow it can wait" Adrastos adviced before walking out

'So father has been doing that behind my back huh. How cruel of him'

Morning came and Adrastos is getting ready for his combat practice before going to their tea time along with Khaos making his way towards the Zixuan Empire

It was a fact that Adrastos have greatly improved bit only to combat but to everything, a prodigy he is. It disgust him how he have to be great at everything with how high his subjects expectations have to him.

Later, he was now ready to head to the garden where their tea time will be held

"Blessings and Glory to the Sun of Obelia" He greeted the emperor with a curtsy bow

The tea time was peaceful with some awkwardness here and there and a constant comment from Claude and Adrastos resulting to Athanasia do all the talking

'They sure are boring and hard to talk to' She thought but was shook when Adrastos slammed his cup and raises his hand and moves his finger but she was more shocked when a hooded and masked figure came in view behind Adrastos his arms and feet tied apart.

Adrastos stands up along with Claude when another went to Athanasia's side and was about to stab her when a thin string stopped him and tied him up

"His highness mana" Felix claimed under his breath clearly remembering the gruesome scene the commander showed them yesterday in the throne room.

"Your majesty it is better to go away and put Princess Athanasia to safety"

"How did you even sense those rascals? Is this your plan?!" Emperor accused him making Adrastos sigh in annoyance

"How rude to just accuse me of this your majesty. I was basically at a war where i could die anytime so it would only be normal to heighten my sense and be alerted to any danger near me" Adrastos said looking offended at his father as he raised him forefinger completely cutting the assassins tied right hand as he screams in agony

"Who sent you?" He commanded but no words came out to the assasin so Adrastos was once again raised his hand and this time cutting half of the assassins leg

"It seens like you're a loyal dog, why don't you stay like that so that i can torture you longer" He said smirking his right eye turning into a ruby jeweled one

'Just like before! His eyes change" Felix thought worried and horrified to the sight behold him

They just saw Adrastos being cruel to someone, they truly don't know Adrastos is after all his father couldn't careless to him. O how he regret it

So yeah in short the sudden loyalty Khaos have for Adrastos is not random but he was tasked and been protecting him since the day Adrastos was sent to the battle field.
