Adrastos visit to his grandparents got postponed because his father insisted that he shall celebrate Athanasia's birthday before going away so Adrastos agreed.

He went to the emerald palace where Athanasia now reside he was greeted by a busy maids walking around preparing things, he just sigh and went towards where Athanasia is and he did saw Athanasia sitting on her couch along with an unfamiliar boy in front of her.

"Princess" Adrastos called his little sister who snap from her thought as she look at the so tall Adrastos with his charming face

'Seriously what's up with this novel full of charming people?' She thought while looking to Adrastos and Lucas who raised his eyebrows

"B-brother! What are you doing here?"

" I came here to greet you and give this gift" He said while showing a small box making Athanasia curious

"Aren't you going to visit your relative brother?" Athanasia asked as she accepted the small box and opened it making her eyes sparkles, it was a gold necklace with emerald

"I'll postpone it since his majesty asked me to stay for a while since it is your birthday" Adrastos explained as he looks at the smirking Lucas

"Since i can see you're having time playing with your playmate i must go, Happy birthday princess" Adrastos said bowing a bit, " But before that i would like to know this young boy's name" he said making Lucas irked after getting called a young boy

' I am older than you, you brat'

" The name's Lucas your highness, I am the magician of the black tower" Lucas introduced himself while smiling at Adrastos

"I see" was what Adrastos only response turning away but before that there is something the warlock said that made the prince stop

"There is another you. He lives inside your body"

" That is absurd and such baseless suspicion" He said before leaving making Lucas look at him with amusement.

'So things like this really exist'

Night came but Adrastos cannot sleep with thoughts running through his head and he decided to walk around to his garden.

It was peaceful that really calms Adrastos , everyone is asleep and only the soft sound of leaves swaying, crickets and the beautiful sky really made his messed up mind clears

He is very well aware that his Father is still awake either working or drunk, especially it is Athanasia's birthday that means Diana's death anniversary so he went to his father's palace to inform him about leaving tomorrow.

As he expected he was met by a sight of drunk Claude on his couch with lots of empty bottle of alcohol on the floor

" Blessings and glory to the Sun of Obelia" Adrastos greeted him even though there is a chince that he cannot respond or just beat him up like always when it comes to Diana's death anniversary just thinking about that made Adrastos shut his eyes and sighs deeply

"Who?- Adrastos? Is that you my son?" Claude called him making Adrastos put his hand behind his back and look of disgust in nearly visible on his face

"Indeed it is me your majesty, I apologize if i disturb you but i came here to tell you that i'll be leaving tomorrow. That is all your majesty enjoy your night" Adrastos said without looking at his father when suddenly Claude stands up

It seems like Adrastos felt a sense of deja vu when Claude walks closer to him, he remembered the time he got beaten up because of Claude's drunk state but instead of feeling a punch, Claude hug him.

Adrastos was so shocked that he couldn't move

" O Adrastos my son, forgive me. please don't leave me" Claude plea on his drunken state as he hugged tighter while Adrastos pushed him away

"Your majesty you're just drunk, i advise that you should sleep now"

All he receive was the emperors soft breathing making him sigh in frustration, he had no choice but to carry his father towards his chamber and there he saw Felix going to his way

"Your highness, allow me to assist you"

" No need i can do this just open his majesty's room" Adrastos said while carrying his father

After putting Claude to bed they stopped a bit when Felix uttered something

" It seems like you still care and love your father your highness"

" I do not care nor love him, not anymore. I am just looking out to the empire's emperor"

"But you cannot deny that he is still your father"

" You are correct. I have a father, but never had a dad Felix" Adrastos spat at felix as he continued, " He is a bastard that have the same blood running through my vein"

"I cannot deny it but i have learned my lesson. I have seek the attention and validation to the person who couldn't careless about my well being and that is my biggest regret, Chasing after someone who i know that will never look at me with affection." Adrastos vented making Felix look down in shame

"I am tired of hoping that the emperor would look at me with affection like what he is showing to Athanasia. Felix. I am not the same kid from your memory" Adrastos said before leaving them

"He is already dead, you will never see the Adrastos whose only goal is to make his father proud, that Adrastos is dead. I hope you understand what i mean" He said glaring at Felix

" I... I don't understand at all" Felix said feeling all the pain from what Adrastos

" Then let me explain it to you, After understanding that i will never be recognize by the emperor as his son and all my hard work are just useless i stopped caring and loving him. I am very sure you know the difference of how he look at me, he always look at me with disgust and anger that it suffocates me. It disgust me to the core. Why would i even bother to care when i already know that my goal will never happen, i'm just waiting for nothing" He said finally taking his leave with heavy heart, he did not mean to pour his feeling out.

Not realizing that his father is eavesdropping in their conversation as Claude clench his fist with frustration present on his face. It was painful all he want is to end all this pain

"Tsk. how troublesome" Adrastos said while running his hand through his hair

With Felix

"Your majesty you've heard him" Felix said while looking at Claude 'sleeping' form

" Your way of making him strong is the reason why he suffered so much.. That he even stopped caring if you would care or not, he is your child that is forced to grow up. Even if its too late i hope that you'll make up to the thing you did to him" With that Felix left the emperor alone thinking all of what he did to his son

" Forgive me, son"
