You didn't expect your weekend to be spent like this but you come back home, shut the door close behind you, and kick off your shoes before you storm to the kitchen.

"That piece of shit." You mutter, taking a deep breath before you shrug down a glass of cold water from the fridge.

You've never thought that one day you'll find your boyfriend of two years cheating on you with your best friend. You lean against the counter, fingers running through your hair while you try to understand what happened.

No matter how hard you try to wrap your mind around the situation, the reality of it all seems surreal. The images of their betrayal flash before your eyes, each one a dagger to your heart.

Tears are falling down your cheeks when you push yourself away from the counter and pace the kitchen, unable to sit still. The scene is etched in your mind – their guilty expressions, the awkward silence, the stammered excuses.

Your phone starts ringing and when you see your best friend's name on the screen, you let out a mock gasp before you reply. "What do you want?"

There's a pause on the other end of the line, and you can almost sense the hesitation in her voice. "We need to talk."

"Talk about what? The fact that you've been sleeping with my supposed boyfriend?" The words come out more venomous than you intended, but you can't help it.

"I can't even begin to apologize enough for what happened. It's just that... things got complicated, and I was confused."

"You know what? You're a fucking bitch. You shattered my trust and broke my heart. And for what? A flimsy excuse? I'm gonna block your number, get the fuck out of my life. Don't bother trying to explain or apologize. We're over."

You hang up and stare at your phone for a moment, your heart pounding in your chest. With trembling fingers, you scroll through the settings and block her number.

As you place your phone down, you let out a shaky breath, feeling relieved your roommate isn't home to see you being this pathetic. He'd only laugh and say he told you so.

Making your way to your room, you collapse onto your bed and bury your face in your pillow, letting the tears flow freely. The anger, betrayal, and heartbreak feel suffocating, and you find it hard to catch your breath.

Memories of happier times with your supposed boyfriend continue to play in your mind, but all of it feels like a cruel joke now. How could someone you cared about so deeply betray you in such a hurtful way?

You stand up to change and just sleep when you end up hitting your knee against the corner of your bed frame. The sudden pain makes you wince and grit your teeth before you hear his voice outside your door.

"Y/N? You alright?" Sunghoon, your roommate, asks and you lower your head, crying silently. "I'm coming in."

"Don't come in!" You say through your sobs, your tears mixing with your words.

Despite your protest, Sunghoon opens the door and steps inside, his eyes widening with concern as he takes in the sight of you. "Wait, did you hurt yourself?"

You're crying while he sits down beside you, holding your leg gently, concern etched on his face. But your hands rest against his chest and you try to push him away. "Just leave me alone."

"I'm not planning on leaving you like this," Sunghoon says, not moving an inch away from you.

"Why do you even care?" You wipe your tears and look at him in frustration. It's hard to comprehend why he's being so persistent, especially when you're feeling so raw and overwhelmed. And especially when he's always been cold and distant to you.

"Am I supposed to pretend I don't care when you're clearly hurting?" His words make your lips quiver and you end up breaking down into sobs again. "Hey, hey, come here."

Sunghoon's arm tightens around you as he pulls you into a gentle embrace. "I hate crying in front of you-" Your body shakes with the force of your sobs, and you struggle to get the words out between the waves of emotion that are crashing over you.

"It's okay. You don't have to hate it." Your head rests against his shoulder, and you allow yourself to release all the pent-up sorrow and frustration that has been consuming you while he rubs soothing circles on your back. "I'm here."

Your sobs begin to subside, but you still cling to him, not wanting him to see your face. "I'm sorry. I just..."

"Look at me," he whispers softly, and you pull away slightly, allowing your tear-streaked face to meet his gaze. "I know you think you're a mess, but to me, you're still the most beautiful person I've ever known."

His words catch you off guard and you feel a warmth spread through your chest. "Why are you being nice to me? You've always been... so distant."

Sunghoon's fingers gently wipe away the remaining tears from your cheeks. "I'm not good at expressing my feelings, especially for the girl I love, knowing that she has a boyfriend."

Your heart skips a beat when his hands cup your face, holding eye contact. "What..."

"This is my confession, Y/N. As raw as it might be, I can't hold it in any longer. I've loved you since the first time we met but I held back, kept my distance, because I didn't want to complicate things."

"I never knew..." You stammer, his touch sending shivers down your spine.

"I didn't expect you to know it. All I've ever been to you was your cold, annoying roommate." He smiles a little, his thumb brushing lightly against your cheek.

"I heard you talk on the phone. Now you understand why I hated him. He doesn't deserve you at all, Y/N."

His thumb trails to your lips, gently brushing over them. "You deserve someone who loves you truly and I want to be that person, Y/N. I have so much love to give, so much that I've been holding back all this time."

You stare at him, not really finding the right words to say. His fingers remain on your lips, and without realizing it, you part them slightly, letting his touch linger. "I..." You gulp, your stomach filled with dancing butterflies.

"Can I kiss you?" Sunghoon's voice is barely over a whisper as his eyes dart from your eyes to your mouth, then back to your eyes. "Do I have your permission?"

This moment feels surreal, like a scene from a movie you never thought would play out in your own life. As he looks at you, time seems to stretch, allowing you to absorb every detail of his expression – the earnestness in his gaze, the vulnerability he's displaying, and the sincerity in his voice.

Your eyes flicker from his gaze to his lips and back again, the unspoken answer passing between you in that charged silence.

And before you know it, he leans in, his lips meeting yours in a tender, almost cautious kiss. His lips are soft against yours, and his touch is gentle as if he's holding back, giving you space to set the pace.

The kiss speaks volumes – it's a confession, an understanding, and a promise all rolled into one.

Then he starts chuckling against your lips, making your stomach flutter with delight. You pull away slightly, your foreheads touching as you both share a quiet laugh. "I've wanted to do that for a while now."

"I didn't expect you to be... this loving." You whisper and he chuckles, leaning down to kiss your leg, right where a bruise is forming.

His lips press gently against the bruised area, his touch tender and soothing. "Well, now you do. And I'm here, whenever you're ready to let someone love you the way you deserve."
