Summer's Eden

The evening sun dips into the horizon,

Waving goodbye.

A faint buzz can be heard in the air,

Insects zipping around.

Laying on the green grass,

Us.

The dying day still giving it's heat to us.

Laughs form from our mouths,

Nothing's funny,

Just our happiness can't be contained.

The grass feels like the clouds above,

fluffed and light,

But also green with envy at what we have.

Your lips are pink like the sky,

Your eyes,

A dark grey,

With a twinkle like the peeking stars.

Human life dies down around us,

As nature rises in the glow of street lights.

A sense of bliss fills my body,

Hoping just to lie on the manicurred grass forever,

With you.

Time passes,

The evening cools into a humid night.

The stars scrape against the sky,

As the moon hangs above,

Sharing its light with us.

The silver rays bounce off your face,

Your teeth shining with your smile.

Just you,

I,

And our Eden.
