New Years

The night was cold,
But our bodies were burning bright.
Your lips felt like paradise,
A never ending dream that felt like an eternity flew by.
Your lips against mine,
Against my neck,
Against my chest.
As if possessed by some ancient hunger that could not be satisfied.
I pressed my body against yours,
As if melding into one,
Our lips become one,
Putting my life force into you,
And yours into mine.
Your skin was soft like a ripened peach.
Between the aggressive kisses came soft touches,
Kissing away my doubts,
My fears,
Kissing away time.
In that moment there wasn't anyone else in the world except for us.
Nothing mattered but what was happening to us in the moment.
The rise and fall of your chest,
The words you whispered,
They took me to a place I've never been to before,
A place where the sun shines in eternal sunset,
Where flowers are always at bloom,
Where colors and emotions and sounds flow like a river.
It was intoxicating,
Becoming more consumed with every kiss,
Every touch.
It was as if every moment ever was made just for things to come together to this exact moment.
When everything is bliss.
I wish I could escape everyday to that place.
That place that has been written and sung about for millennia,
Wars have been started,
People have done the most cruel things for the most pure feeling.
But it's more than just a feeling or an emotion.
It's something holy,
It's one of the most valuable things to possess in life yet it has no value.
Would I befall to the trials,
Or will I persevere?
It makes you greedy,
Greedy for your touch,
Your kiss,
Your words.
If the worst happens,
I will always have that New Years night,
We will always have New Years night.
